“It's hard for anyone (to catch Alonso) except Seb at the moment,” Button is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. “It's between those two but there's still a lot of people with a long shot. That's what we're all going to go for.

“It just shows that one bad race makes a massive difference; Fernando had his at Spa, Lewis had his at Spa and here, Seb had his at the last race. I had mine in the last race. When no-one has the consistency, you can't close a big gap on someone. But Seb is now only 29 points behind - that's a gap that's shrinking.”

Where on earth do those quotes say any of the stuff that you guys are writting about ???

As far as Lewis goes, I don't think he even pays much attention to what Jenson says so what you lot refer to as Jenson's mind games simply goes without much notice. At the end of the day, Lewis does his talking on Saturdays and Sundays and Jenson does his business Monday thru Thursday and in the garage with Martin. I suspect Lewis figured out just who Jenson has turned out to be so there is no level of trust there. He's on his own so all he has left is what he does in the car...the one thing Jenson can't cope with or take away (two things if you count grip). Having a half second a lap advantage over your #1 team-mate is quite the laugh. I suppose Jenson's advantage in the team is that, according to Martin, he's strikingly good looking. (Creepy!)

I'm just saying...

Stuff like this is what drive me crazy about Button... whether it's manipulation, or head games or simply putting his foot in his mouth, the thing I'd respond to him is perhaps thats how he feels about his chances, but clearly the guy sitting in the car with the yellow T-Bar I'm sure feels he's still able to win this WDC given that he's able to make the car go considerably faster than his team mate.

“It's between those two but there's still a lot of people with a long shot. That's what we're all going to go for.

Having to make up 52 as opposed to 29 pts. makes the former a long(er) shot in my book as well...

Thats what makes me despise Button even more, even now he is ecstatic because Lewis looks out of it and might now play a team game for a long shot

and has the gall to tell us that his own misfortune with unreliability is comparable to Lewis' or Alonso or Sebs, like 'I had my dip that explains why I wont win this year and look Lewis has had his too'

“It just shows that one bad race makes a massive difference; Fernando had his at Spa, Lewis had his at Spa and here, Seb had his at the last race. I had mine in the last race. I had mine in the last race? lame duck couldn't even overhaul Seb when Lewis had roughed him up a bit before he retired

Which I'm not debating but Mr. Slick isn't pointing out in the same breath that his task is quite a bit of a LONGER shot still his shot being 75 points is he?

Anyway, we're all going to read into it what we will, I'm not looking to change minds, just found an interesting quote that I wanted to share with my fellow forum members. Nico and Romain also have long shots... maybe that's what he meant.

In the end NoGrip is simply driving to collect the cash and remain popular in the paddock...I dont think he even cares if he wins another race as long as his teammate doesn't. His career as far as he is concerned, ended in 2009 since he achieved something probably even he knew he would never be able to in his wildest dreams. I mean, when you feel you've achieved a 10/10 in your career when you know your talent could only take you 7/10 in normal circumstances, where's the pressure? Gone.

At least Martin is focused on the WDC and only speaks about Lewis in the same line as the Championship. Lewis just needs a car that is quick and can finish and he can still win the WDC. F*ck Button and his worthless opinions.

Everyone loves Jenson!

Except for the extreme Hamilton fans, apparently. :whip:

Come on, he's not bad, as far as team mates go, he's performing better than Massa, Grossjean and that's it at least as far as the leading teams.

Nobody cares about his performance...everyone knows he's not on Hamiltons level, it's just his mouth and stupid politics which makes him a pain in the arse.

Considering he's won a wdc, beaten his teammate at leat once, won two races this season ...and crashed many times fewer than his teammate.. I'd say he's performed better than at least a couple more drivers.

But yea...

What are you making sense for?????

As for the rest of the guys... C'mon admit it. You want Jenson to say he's going to help Lewis championship run.

You're going to get into big trouble mister saying that Jenson is considerably better than Vettel, this year at least. :hehe:

I'm glad that you bring up the beating Hamilton fair and square last year, yes in deed he did. Maybe now you'll admit that Lewis Hamilton, also beat Fernando Alonso (a two time world champion!) in his rookie year.

I like that we're in a better understanding place f1ea, it's been nice. :cloud9:

Considerably better than who?
First of all i never said anyone IS better, lest IS CONSIDERABLY BETTER.

About Alonso... i didnt bring that up, but that can be discussed separtely in the Thats Lewis thread if you want.

So yeah... if you're gonna try and discuss my posts, at least learn how to read.

Testy when you don't get things your way? I was trying to apply logic, given your argument, ergo, Vettel 1 win, Jenson, 2 wins... you know it does make sense given the logic to your statement but you seem to disregard logic whenever it's convenient . Sometimes my jokes don't come across when I phrase them, you know what that's like. No need to rehash the other issue, the facts on that lead you to only one conclusion, but again those pesky facts.

I do know how to read, apparently what YOU should learn to do is say what you mean instead of trying to be cute in stirring the pot. That would be okay if not for the fact that you obviously don't like it when it goes the other way around, but that's just your style, don't take it as a personal affront. It would probably help you to just keep in mind the definition to the word I found in the Merriam-Webster's book the other day.

Have your opinion all you want dude, just phrase it like that, and when presented with an opposing opinion that also happens to bear facts, then you're still allowed to keep your opinion but you can't say the other guy is wrong unless you present better and more convincing facts of your own.

That's it, I won't pay such close attention to your posts, since you'd rather not have them scrutinized for accuracy. Enjoy, peace in the middle east.
