Are there guidelines on how the parents should cure their children once they've identified the problem?

To be fair to the Malaysia goverment, as it is a developing county it is just going through it's next step of evolution, just like the developed world (who no doubt in 100 years time people will look back on us now and think that we are almost savages)

To us yes, the whole "watch out for gays and stamp it out" thing is shocking, but was not long ago that we would not let black people on a bus or let women vote! I am sure that in a few years I am sure there will be other "isms" we will of got rid of. Especially when things like religious hate is at a high.

Better EXTREMELY late than never I suppose.......

It wasn't much different than than in the US, but progressives never discriminated, and the fact that an overwhelming majority of the population doesn't discriminate against something doesn't mean that it's not illegal. Marijuana it still illegal and its use is very common and sodomy laws weren't struck down until 2003. Governments are often way behind the social curve of its citizens.
