A great article, bud. Thanks for posting it. It explains a lot of what you and I have been saying.

Yes, good one Bud --------
- The fact that Alonso has stoked up fans' hatred of McLaren because of ill-judged comments is a reflection on him. It was certainly true to say that McLaren preferred Lewis to win the World title. He was a Brit driving for a British-based team. He'd also been employed by McLaren for nine years before Alonso arrived on the scene. But to promote the idea that McLaren hampered him from winning is nonsense.
Quote - What Alonso needs to do now is go on Spanish television and state quite clearly some of the things he has subsequently admitted. That he did get reasonable treatment from McLaren in his time there. We know from his old Renault days that he says things in the heat of the moment that he subsequently regrets - like the time he said his team didn't want him to win the 2006 World Championship. A very public statement is the only way forward.

I dont think that F.A. has the balls or the moral fibre to go on Spanish TV with this do you?
Much of his glory, naturaly, comes from Spanish fans, so if he did what Andrew Davies suggests (and which I totaly agree with) he would seriously damage his credibility with the Spanish fans, so thats why I dont think that he will.

What's clear is that although the people in charge have reacted to the criticism that Spain is harboring a brand of racist sports fan that makes Kazhakstan look like a bunch of progressive liberals

That's because Kazhakstan is "very niceâ„¢". :P:D

What I would also have mentioned in that article as well is Alonso's childish tantrum he threw after winning at the Nurburgring over the scratch on his car after wheel-banging with Massa. Totally uncalled for.

If he threw such a strop after winning that race, I wonder how Alonso would get on in Touring Cars :)

Think we'll know that answer in about 10 years time. Or even better how would he get on riding dodgems? :P

Lewis doesn't deserve racist abuse.

This is the most important sentence in the whole article. I think it is the FIA, rather than Alonso, who should make a public statement to make sure fans know this sort of abuse from hooligan clowns against any of their drivers will be harshly punished. Yes this will probably not stop racism in spain, the world or whatever... but at least it will keep it away from the tracks.

As far as Alonso is concerned, he will probably address and condem it if interviewed. But I also doubt he will make a public/personal statement out of this.

He may have behaved poorly with his situation in Mclaren, but blaming Alonso for this racist abuse against Lewis would be the same as blaming Lewis for Alonso's poor tenure with Mclaren.

Yep it's not Alonso's fault and the FIA should step in and atleast voice some concern.

I dont think that anyone has said that F.A. was responsible for the actions of these morons.
They were not dressed for carnival, that's a good and happy occasion, they were dressed for abuse and insult. That the media reported it was a good thing because everyones knows about it now, and even the FIA have responded to deal with the future of racism in Spanish F1.
Why would you not want the press to report it? These morons get no glory from it so do you want it swept under the carpet to protect the image of Spain? If it was not reported it would quite likely happen again, but now it is unlikely.

Fernando Alonso is responsible too.Andrew Davies

So ,,, its a good thing to report the insults of 3,4 or 20 morons between 15000 "normal "persons? This is what you get with that report:"the future of racism in Spanish F1".

Why would you not want the press to report it? These morons get no glory from it so do you want it swept under the carpet to protect the image of Spain?

You are wrong, they have the glory. Now morons can see their stupid faces on newspapers pictures so they can show their friends and think they are very funny. So yes, i want to protect the image of spain , why? well under the pictures of morons, you wont read " 3 donkeys in Montmelo " youll read " spanish racism ".

If it was not reported it would quite likely happen again, but now it is unlikely.

wrong again. Next day another 5 idiots from Jerez will do the same.why? because now they will get the attention from the media.

Do they deserve it??????

I see what your meaning is spanishbullfighter but racism should not be tolerated no matter if it's one person or ten thousand people, that's the point that's trying to be made here.
This forum does not tolerate or support racism in any form or fashion for future reference.
