I'm a big Kimi fan. I think his attitude is great and his speed is phenominal. He never seems to bitch when things dont go his way, he just gets on with it. I can't ever really remember him complaining about the reliability of the Mclarens when he was with them, and when Lewis 'blocked' him coming out of the pits when he was on his flying lap, Ferrari went to the stewards to moan, but he just said it wasn't an issue.

However, I really don't like Ferrari. Never have, and probably never will. Generally a bunch of cheating hypocrites with no moral standing. I'm still a McLaren fan and I've always thought their cars look the most engineered in the padock. And since I love F1 for the fact that it represents the pinacle of sporting technology, its hard for me not to like them.

Last year was win-win for me, my fav driver won the WDC, and my fav team won the most points on the track.

Anyone else got split loyalties?

I'm a Williams fan and Hamilton is my favourite driver, but I will also support whoever drives for Williams (except for JV - who I didn't like - and HHF in 1997 and 1998 after Williams sacked Hill) and I like Rosberg as well at the same time.

Always pushed for Kimi. He is the best driver on the grid and I felt he's been quite close for the past 3 yrs. When he was with Mclaren it frustrated me that he was sooooo inconsistent... Now all is well :)

It's funny, I know a lot of finnish people, and their english always sound funny and cold-cut. Just like Kimi's.

Drivers I like are Alonso, Heidfeld and Nico. Plus I really enjoyed Lewis' style in Monaco 07! and I hope Vettel does well, he seems to have a solid future.

No. I really like Nico as he is exactly like his dad, blindingly fast when the equipment allow's. My second choice of driver is Kimi because of his no BS style and personality and Lewis is also a favorite for me, that kid can drive but I also like the way he handle's himself.

To be honest, I don't really have favourite drivers, at least not in the way some people do. My primary concern is for McLaren and I want the best drivers to drive for the team, and appreciate the skills that drivers from other teams and like to see them do well. Drivers I really did like over the years were Hakkinen and Senna. The latter posed a problem for me when he left McLaren for Williams, because as much as I loved McLaren, I loved Senna as well. I'm not really interested in celebrities - certainly in the stereotypical sense - but to me he was like a father figure. In truth, McLaren for the constructors' title and Senna for the drivers' title would have been nice when he left for Williams, but I'm not sure that could have worked out.

I like Raikkonen, but he saddens me at times, as I've said before. He has so much ability, but doesn't use all of it all of the time. If he's as good as he is now putting in 90% of the effort, imagine how good he would be if he put in 100%! Pretty scary actually. Alonso is an awful person, but a great driver. Maybe not as fast as Raikkonen, but his car development and overtaking skills are pure quality. Rosberg looks to be a brilliant driver, as does Vettel, Kubica, Sutil, Hamilton, Davidson and Kovalainen. One driver I don't really like is Button. He seems slightly surly and is permanently complains.

Yup. I've always liked Jenson, and there's just something about Honda that I like. Perhaps the fact that, barring the '07 performance, they were improving quite a lot. They also powered my real favourite team at one point, but since that team is no longer around...

Yes, Jordan were awesome. Shame that I can't watch the yellow cars go round the track anymore. They were part of the reason my interest in Formula 1 started - Jordan 1-2 in the first full Grand Prix I watched! :)

^ In reference to what you say about Jenson, he does complain a bit, however I would say that a lot of it is quite justifiable. He can drive quickly and skillfully, however he's ben given a fairly rubbish car on more than one occasion and I must admit that whenever your equipment is not good enough to let your ability shine through properly, regardless of what it is, it is very frustrating.

For me the driver will always take precedent and I don't like Ferrari to win(for the same reasons Mooker states in his openning post), So that poses some problems because i like massa and Kimmi :? However my favourite current driver is Lewis. Previous favourites have been Damon Hill( for his battles against the odds with Schumacher) and Montoya(I loved watching him in CART and then he came to F1 and took Schumacher round the outside in one of his first races-magic!).
My team tends to be the one my favourite driver is in, but I think McLaren will remain a favourite after their unfair treatment in 07(unless they employ dorcs-but they have Lewis now for 5yrs so all looks rosy :D:D )
As just a team, i loved Jordan :D

I don't think there was anything unfair about how the cheaters were treated - actually, come think of it, I revise this statement. In my opinion it was unfair that they were not excluded from the drivers' championship as well. :twisted:8)

Really? Then why werent Toyota and renault excluded for contravening the same rule(or article or whatever name the FIA give it)??
p.s. Its ok Ferrari managed the drivers all by themselves  Well with a little help from Alonso...ah! maybe hes owed a Ferrari drive :lol::lol:

Ferrari is the GREATEST team of all time. If you cannot hack it then BAD LUCK! Get over it. Ferrari won everything fairly in 2007. If McLaren had won it, it would of been unfair because they cheated. It was proven because Alonso supplied the proof. With Renault there was no clear evidence. Just like with McLaren Vs Ferrari when McLaren was let off with a warning the first time. So if McLaren supporters want to have a cry, take it out on Alonso Lo Stronzo! And as for cheaters, there are no room for them in F1. McLaren should be taken out of existence for cheating. If it were not for Alonso and his telling the FIA on McLaren, McLaren would of won 2007. Now how dishonest would that of been? In regards to my favorite driver. It was Schumacher because he was just so GREAT. But these days (and before Schumi) I don't care about the driver. All that matters to me is that Ferrari wins and therefore that Ferrari has the best drivers. Actually I liked Nigel Mansell as well so I lie about only ever liking Schumi. :)

But you forget how many times ferrari have cheated, particularly with schumacher! McLaren are just novices at this aspect of the sport

This is the reason I don't like Ferrari, or their supporters. They have very shallow memories and are generally a bunch of hypocrites. Ferrari have perfected cheating in F1, and they have the support of the FIA to get away with it. Must make the Tifosi proud.

I think I've follow pretty much the same drivers as you Racechick. I preferred Mansel over Senna, but I was young, and easily influenced back then. I went on to support Hill after Mansell left, then Hakkinen after that, then on to Kimi. I probably could have ben a Button fan, but I lost a lot of respect for over the BAR/Williams contract issue. He didn't handle things very professionally, and he seems to have been moaning ever since. Huge respect for Hamilton, he had a brilliant first season and will probably get my support once Kimi quits. If Alfonso wasn't sharing any set-up info with him, then he pretty much developed he own car and set-up last year. And to do that as a rookie is almost as impressive as his on-track performance. He shouldn't have any problems leading the team in the future.

Very, very naive. If there were no McLaren in F1, there would be no real competition. It would turn into a Ferrari parade, people would loose interest, and F1 would be ona downward spiral. Its not just about winning, its about beating other teams on an equal standing.
