Are we prepared for a shocker?! Lewis racing for Ferrari. If he and his management are in fact considering Mercedes, Ferrari could easily be an option...some might say a better option. Vettel has reaffirmed his designs on Red Bull so that's it for top drivers. After much hopeful comments from Montezemolo about Massa, suddenly the rhetoric changed...to:

“Not yet, we will see,” Montezemolo said of any decision on Massa during a video interview with CNN. “For sure he has to give us good results (pause) and Felipe has been, and still is, a good driver for Ferrari.

“We are not with a gun here (points at head, smiling) to decide. We will see, we will see. I think I have to look at the future and we need two very competitive drivers. We will see.”

I know this (Lewis to Ferrari) has been discussed before but this time, there seems to be more to his Silly Season contribution. The last part of Luca's comment is very telling. "we need two very competitive drivers. We will see.” Hmmm...

I'm just saying...

Very well done to Lewis for getting the pole for today. Had to laugh watching Button on the BBC highlights show forcing himself to congratulate his "team-mate". He couldn't bring himself to say Lewis. :D

I just hope we don't see any "action" between them today in the run down to the first chicane. :yikes:

Winner of the Italian (Ferrari) GP - LEWIS F'N HAMILTON

I love the way he puts the hammer down when he needs to, when Perez was on the move. Superb drive and pacing as usual when he's given the equipment, looked unbeatable today until Jenson stopped and his biggest threat then became his own car. Special thanks to McLaren for giving the reliable car to the right driver. :P Let's face it, if Hamilton had stopped, it would be a Sauber winning today not a McLaren.

Happy for Perez, fantastic overtake on Alonso that was sweet!!!

Congratulations to the best driver on the field in my view for his 3rd win this season, hope for many more!!! GO GO GO! :drink::drink::drink:

By English engineers?

Good win for Lewis. But so subdued. "I'd like to thak McLaren for giving me this oppertunity"...... Does that give a clue to his mindset towards his current team. His heart just doesn't seem to be there.

Good drive from Hamilton today, got a good start, held off Massa into turn one and never looked back, did enough to win and nothing more, managed the gap to Perez without pushing his equipment! Just a shame that it couldn't have been a 1 - 2 for McLaren, Jenson's retirement cost Hamilton points against Alonso.

Great drive by LH, Dont think Button would have finished on the podium or ahead of Alonso, so I dont think his retirement hurt Lewis much in the title race

Interesting comments from Ron after the race tho, sounds like MW is not in control of the contract negotiations and the chief has not executed 'the decision/wishes of the board and of its shareholders' yet. However Ron reckons the fact that LH has a winning car might help MW

and it also sounded to me as if Ron said decisions would now be made beyond driver skill or good car that would have a big effect on the title, and then he said they only cared for wins not titles

well well well, whats Jenson gonna say about that, he promised us he would quit F1 if team orders were imposed on him

I don't agree, I think that JB had more than enough pace to hold off Alonso and Perez, before his retirement, Jenson was up there with Lewis on lap times, being stuck behind Massa was what cost him the most. Lewis definitely had the upper hand against Jenson, but JB was close enough to finish second to Lewis in my opinion!
