Or maybe he's honest and doesn't care about sugar coating his opinion to pander to his apparently over-sensitive teammate...

And case in point, he now plays the 'good guy, bad guy' card, as he seeks to place the pole and victory purely at the hands of his driving.
Subtle, subtle, subtle, always subtle.
He's 'disappointed with Hamilton'.

RC, I have to agree with Jenson on this. It is disappointing to see what Lewis did, I assume out of frustration and nothing else. You never, ever share team data in any format with another team or make it public domain...under any circumstance. With that said, Jenson could have slated him but took a very grownup stance. Good on Jenson for that. As a mega fan of Lewis', I would say "disappointed" is exactly the way I feel about this too. I always defend him when it's proper but I can't defend this one. Really poor decision. :irked:

I'm just saying...

Agree with that.I was surprised when I saw the informations on twitter.Maybe they don't seem important at all but why the team makes a deal of it lik this if it isn't so?
"The bit about him losing 0.6 secs on the straights isn't the bit that's important to me because he should be gaining it back in the corners he's got more downforce on. And I was 0.8 secs quicker in qualifying anyway.

This part confuses me though, the way he is saying it, like Lewis ''should be'' and ''I was quicker'' Too outspoken maybe?

Well, basically the telemetry mostly tells stuff about the cars performance on Spa and the difference in set-up between the two drivers.

Also, I do believe Jenson is right in saying he should be faster on the straights, it seems that was the difference in set-up after all, because Lewis won back time in the twisty bit. That's not something the wing spec is doing, that's wing set-up. Jenson was set-up for more speed on the straights, less speed in corners.

I just think Jenson found speed in his set-up in the corners that made the gap between him and Lewis in the section less big, meaning he'd win those tenths on the straights. The sweet spot as they call it. If we look at Webber on Spa though, I do think high downforce was a mistake anyway.

The team havent really made an issue of it to be fair, not publically anyway. Whitmarsh said he asked Lewis to remove it and lewis did and thats the end of the matter. It's only jenson who has rekindled the issue rather than letting it die. Jenson is good at exploiting situations to his advantage and thats what he's doing. Trying to destabalise Lewis by dragging the issue on to the next race and trying to portrey Lewis in a bad light. I guess its all fair in love and war, and if thats one of jenson's skills he's free to use it. He should have been a politician. Lewis has his faults for sure but Ive never seen him try to exploit a situation deliberatly to the detriment of Jenson.

On your second point Elfinitty, drivers do tend to discuss things using that type of language when looking at laps. But jenson will be keen to establish that the car's speed was down to his driving rather than the wing and set up.

Yeah he's one to talk after his famous shenanigans with contracts last time in that mess with BAR and Honda. He's got a real knack for trying to unsettle his teammates off the track alright, and I hope Lewis keeps hitting back with wins, starting next week to shut this fella up.

It's all mind games. try to unsettle your main opponent - your team mate. Just another part of the rich tapestry of F1.

Yeah, you're right at this part.I couldn't see the race this weekend, but read that Webber had a lack of performance, especially with downforce.

In some news sites it was said that the team was rather disappointed and unhappy with the twitter post.I don't know how much we can blame Jenson about his real intentions.I think saying that he's trying to portrey Lewis bad wouldn't be right at all.He can act kind of a politician but others are out there like him.Yes,Lewis hasn't exploited a situation to detriment Jenson or didn't give speeches even a bit against Jenson, when he had been suffering this year, despite he spoke for Jenson. But also what Jenson says isn't for the detriment of Lewis but the favor of the team or maybe pointing out his success after a hard time.

Maybe Jenson was personally a little pissed off with Lewis? It was sort of shared data, and it Jenson was annoyed Lewis wouldn't accept he was out qualified?

Lewis always accepts when he's beaten fair and square, he's fessed up many a time. On this occassion that wasnt the case.
And I dont think that data was anything secret, it could be got elsewhere.

When has it happened in the past, Lewis being out qualified by Jenson that didn't involve some sort of grid penalty or technical screw up in qualifying? Being out qualified by Jenson is not what was on his mind. Jenson out qualified the ENTRIRE FIELD by a country mile. He found a good set up, good for him. The car is capable, and that information was not entirely shared between the camps for whatever reason. Probably lack of test time.

If McLaren spent a bit more time on Button's setup and less pandering to the childish antics of his team mate, they would have the championship. Thank God Lewis is going to Mercedes.... they are welcome to him.

:rofl::rofl: Mclaren spent weeks and weeks trying to sort out Button's no grip, no balance problems. They had to resort to using all lewis' data. Suddenly at Spa the sharing stopped. No wonder lewis displayed 'childish tactics'!

Where's the evidence that the sharing stopped?

To be honest, I think McLaren tried to play it safe after the rained out friday and went for two very different set-ups so they'd at least be on the money with one of them, risking that the other would gravely underperform.
