I have no knoweldge of if he is innately nice, but he's friendly and reasonably charismatic and had just won a race, meaning he was happy and celebrating, those I propose are generally conductive to people being nice to you, and not indicative of any particular bias towards Jenson from the BBC.

I'm feeling brave, I think the problem is you, racechick, don't like Jenson as a default so your perception of how others act towards him relative to how those others act towards Lewis ( who you do lie) is skewered.

Feeling brave are you :hehe: There's probably some truth in what you say. The thing is I did like Jenson when he fist came to Mclaren, not lots, but he was ok, and I liked the pairing. Thats changed over the three years, probably in part for the reasons you gave but there are other reasons. I wont go there now I'll save you all from that one. :P

You mean when he started to beat Lewis? :P

No. That was just down to Lewis having crashes. Not bothered about him being a threat to Lewis cosI don't see him as one, all things being equal. Behaviour, probably watched more closely since he was partnering Lewis, hadnt bothered with him so much before.

And case in point, he now plays the 'good guy, bad guy' card, as he seeks to place the pole and victory purely at the hands of his driving.
Subtle, subtle, subtle, always subtle.
He's 'disappointed with Hamilton'.

RC, I have to agree with Jenson on this. It is disappointing to see what Lewis did, I assume out of frustration and nothing else. You never, ever share team data in any format with another team or make it public domain...under any circumstance. With that said, Jenson could have slated him but took a very grownup stance. Good on Jenson for that. As a mega fan of Lewis', I would say "disappointed" is exactly the way I feel about this too. I always defend him when it's proper but I can't defend this one. Really poor decision. :irked:

I'm just saying...

It was not the brightest thing to do, it was naive and impulsive, I'll grant that. I'll say more on that in the Lewis thread cos this is the Jenson thread.
But Jens milks it to build up his Mr. Nice guy image. He does it as smoothly as s*** off a shovel and you see...he takes people in.

I believe that JB is a nice guy and I don't blame him for playing the political and psychological game, he is not the fastest driver in all conditions but he's great at playing mind games to advantage himself, I see nothing wrong with that, he's just using the tools at his disposal. And on his day he can be unbeatable, as Spa once again proved.

It was a dufus move on Lewis' part!

It wasn't the smartest thing he could have done, but, I think far too much is being made of it. I saw the info and there's nothing earth shattering in it - a lot of the stuff you can get by watching the on-screen telemetry they show for every car anyway.

As I said, far too big a deal being made of it, and Jenson re-igniting the issue may well help in the mind-games department but I can't see it helping the team in any way.

I agree, no damning in formation given out. The biggest loser by Twittergate is Lewis hamilton, because he's given ammunition to those who will use it against him.

Where have you been Spanky? The Lewis indoctrination camp? :P

The data itself wasn't too bad, it's more the mentality, he ought to have known better, and has a habit of being impetuous.

Being a dufus summarizes it.

So you agree with what Jenson said, but you still think he's being disingenuous. WTF would you have him do? You're so obviously biased against him, I just can't take you seriously. You MUST be joking.

"re-igniting the issue"? He answers questions by reporters. I'm not sure what setting this particular exchange took place in, but F1 drivers have an obligation to talk to the media.

You're right, it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but, nothing earth shattering and mostly stuff you can see or work out by watching TV. If I gave Lewis a minus 5 for posting it, I'd give Jenson a minus five for keeping the fire stoked and the issue running.

@acosmichippo perhaps, if Jenson had the teams best interests at heart he might have answered saying the data wasn't sensitive and was pretty much what people watch when they see the telemetry on their TV's. In short, Jenson could have used the question to quell rather than throwing a little more kerosine on the fire. Having said that, Jenson did help himself in the mind-games over Lewis - albeit at the expense of the team.
