Melbourne GP organisers and Victorian Government refuse to convert it to a night race. It is offical as you all probably know by now. Also if Melbourne looses the GP it is unlikely that another Australian city, ie Sydney or Adelaide will win it. Ecclestone the Monkey is a greedy prick who just wants more money! He wants to move it somewhere in Asia perhaps in a country full of money. This is crap. Here is an example. China has a GP so does Malayasia and so does Bahrain. Lots of money in those places and crap supporters. Australia has been long into GP racing. It has had Brabham win 3 world titles and Alan Jones win one in 1980. The people in Australia love F1 just like the people in Europe. Ecclestone you KURAC, get this in your head!!!!!!! Take South America. Only Brazil has a GP. Why not Argentina????? Argentinians like Australians have always been and will be into their F1. The only Asian country truly worthy of having a GP is Japan. Japan like European countries has contributed heavily in motorsport and F1 over the years. South America, The USA, Canada and Australia are not far behind. But the rest are a joke. Fancy having a GP in Russia to replace Australia. What has Russia contributed to F1 and motoring? Rusty Ladas perhaps, or perhaps the rusty metal on the pre Fiat owned Alfas? Ecclestone it is ok to quit while you are ahead you know....

now that AKR and Mr Snuggles are best friends here is my opinon. Business wise dropping the Australian grand prix is a good thing. Europe is F1 biggest market and the advertising revenues due to the time difference is some of the lowest in the season even though the race is first on the calendar. Bernie could make more money from Russia or any other place where F1 would be the new shiny sport in town. So if it is not made into a night race so Europeans can watch at a suitable time then Australia isn't going to be on the calendar for long. In fact i am surprised that it has lasted this long

I think, atleast for me, that loosing the Aussie GP would be very sad and my reasoning is because I am very much dedicated to the history of F1. I do believe you are correct concerning the 'business wise' aspect, I hope a suitable venue and time can be worked out so all parties are happy.

You're completely right, but as I have said before and as Gregg has said on this thread, I don't think it's entirely right to let the final digits on a bank statement decide the future of Formula. Certain Grands Prix are special, and whilst not being as special as say, the British Grand Prix, the Australian Grand Prix has a lot of kudos and history behind it. Further, Formula One is meant to be a world championship, so not having an Australian Grand Prix, with no United States Grand Prix, no African Grand Prix and only one Grand Prix in South America really is quite sad. One of the things I don't like about modern Formula One is that is has become so clinical: tracks have to be modern, which generally means boring; everybody uses 'Ron Speak' to address the media now; and drivers cannot even do doughnuts after winning a race! In truth, the sport has lost its way and things are only going to get worse so long as Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone are running the sport. Thanks Bernie, you've done a great deal for the sport without doubt, but now it's time to go.

I agree there
financial is nothing
if money is the main object in this
then were losing the main essence of formula 1
formula one is about racing
and competition
not about money
and greed has over come for certain people
this is so wrong
as the British GP is one of the most amazing GP's in the world
and i have been to some GP's but missing on the British GP will be a major downfall
people sleep in tents for the British GP
& thats the real British Spirit.I think Ecclestone should go like Mclaren Fan quit clearly said
hand it down to someone or sell it off to someone who has morals :?:
but if he carries on like this its going to not be a sport
but a basic greed and this shouldn't be happening
