I need to see more details and more angles from the crash. So far I'm reserving full judgement about exactly what happened, which includes how the crash started, and whether any drivers could have avoided spreading the crash further once it had started.

It's quite obvious that grosjean touched hamilton, thereby sending him into the spin that caused the whole thing. There's NOTHING to reconsider if you've seen hamilton's onboard, bottom line.

Does anybody know wtf happened to maldonado? I didn't see anything regarding how he got his front wing taken off. Idk if he hit somebody, somebody hit him, it fell off, idk  speed didn't show anything about it except him pulling off with a broken front wing.

Did Maldonaldo, even if he didn't touch Grosjean, have a causative role in the accident? Was there anything happening out of sight which led to Grosjean's change of direction?

I did see him spin after the incident in La Source...When we were onboard with Vettel...

A McLaren will win Monza and it won't be Button sitting in it.

Sorry to see such carnage from the start, it would have been an interesting race to see played out. I haven't even looked at my pool scores but after turn one I knew I had basically 25 points in the bag. After a few more laps I knew that 25 points was all I had.

Maldonaldo's start may have surprised some drivers, but he was a long way away from the accident, and was well away before Grosjean starting moving around.

I think he spun just coming out of La Source, no relation to the Grosjean/F1 2011 Online noob crash...Still, him being out = WIN :hehe:

Niki Lauda defending Lewis Hamilton:

Niki Lauda: "I've never seen a driver [Grosjean] do something so stupid. He should be banned for 2 races" #f1

Another point of interest is whether or not Hamilton could have backed off once Grosjean was squeezing him. I'm not saying that Hamilton should have backed off, and I'm not sure that there was space to do so. But I think it's worth discussing whether Hamilton could have backed off.

All I am saying is...Grosjean has played too much online on F1 2011 :hehe:

Grosjean's actions seem very strange. Maybe I need to check the footage more when it's available online. But it looks like he moves over once, ends up partially interlocked with Hamilton, then moves over again. That doesn't make sense to me.

It was ominous from the start, the heavy smoke coming off of Kobayashi's front brakes, Maldonado happy accident of a not so false jump start and then the Gross man hip check that was heard round the world.

One less circuit for Lotus to score their first win of the season.

It was a real shame today, but I'm buoyed by the fact that the McLaren is in good form and more wins will come.

This is the team that ordered one driver to crash in order to give their other driver a win.

 Indeed.

The carnage at the start is really frustrating for McLaren fans, because while it's great seeing Button take a dominant win, we can't ignore the fact that in the WCC, McLaren have made no gains on RBR.

Costly, costly accident.
