So....what's all this about a 'W' rear wing then? Does it really exist? (would you want to put a component on the car for the first race that was so 'radical' and hadn't been tested??)

I think even if it does given them half a second per lap, they will still not be challenging for wins - podiums maybe though....

Hmmmm
I'd give a go with either Massa Or Kimi
but Mclaren will have problems
Fan wise and FIA wise
if anything goe's wrong that they find either annoying or fishy there gone folks
But the compotition will be very close & RBR will be contenders i think....
but they should be anyway they have Ferrari engines?
No excuse
what i find Funny is Toyota
they have the biggest budget
and can't even cough up a win :?:
whats that all about?

i think the best race is going to be for third constructor! ive got a bad feeling that ferrari are going to run away, reminiscent of those boring ferrari dominant years

i know what you mean AL4X
in the years of Michael dominating constantly
you get bored
you watch 4 laps :?:
then you won't watch it because it's to predictable
but i don't think this year will be that predictable
Mclaren have a major shot
and so do Renault
but i'm just watching Honda all the time
they have there own personal battle to get into the top 5
that's gonna be more intresting ;)

its looking a bit more exciting for rthe mid field battle anyway

i want to see renault against bmw this year, bmw had a lot of boring races last year where they were behind the top 2 and ahead of everyone else!

be nice to see honda up there as well! not too keen on toyota tho

From autosport.com:

Symonds says Renault will fight for wins

By Jonathan Noble Thursday, February 7th 2008, 10:43 GMT

An improved Renault car and the return of Fernando Alonso should see the former champions fighting for wins this season, claims engineering chief Pat Symonds.

Although Alonso had moved to downplay expectations of the R28, claiming the car is currently one second per lap slower than McLaren and Ferrari, Symonds is more upbeat about the chances for 2008.

In an exclusive interview with this week's Autosport magazine, Symonds is predicting a return to form for Renault after the troubles of last season.

"It's important to make one thing clear: Fernando would not have made up for the deficiencies of last year's car," said Symonds, who is Renault's executive director of engineering.

"But we are now confident that we have overcome those problems and we are desperate to give him a car that his talent deserves.

"I am certain that the combination of Fernando in a revitalized Renault will see him challenging for wins. He knows what he wants from the car and we have shown in the past that we can deliver it."

Symonds blames two factors for Renault's slump last year - the poor correlation between wind tunnel simulation and track performance, plus the aerodynamic effect of the switch from Michelin to Bridgestone.

"We had two separate issues and either one of them would have been troublesome, but the combination of the two was particularly bad.

"In investigating the phenomena we suffered, we trawled back an awful long way and saw that part of the problem of correlation actually started when we were still on Michelin tyres. So we mustn't just point in one direction."

Hmm. The title of the article is slightly misleading. I agree to an extent with Symonds, for Alonso is good at developing a car and they understand some of the issues they had last year, but I still feel others are ahead of them in the line, for instance BMW, and that points should be their initial aim.

Renault won't be contenders for the title, but the will be contenders for 1,2,3 in races but the title is obviously gonig to Ferrari this season, and its going to be aclose competition between Massa & Raikonnen :)
but Mclaren have a chance, but not as a big of chance like Ferrari, Lewis hamilton will suffer from the overall preasures of the media, and Kovvy has little experience?
also
if mclaren step one step out of line they will obviously be DQ'd as Max Mossley is very biast and one sided?
so it's going to be a rough season :D

i still think ferrari may walk it this year, i wonder if its gonna be ferrari, big gap mclaren gap renault/bmw and the others mixin in the renault bmw battle

especially with mclaren having to watch themselves this year, hopefully im wrong!
