Hi!

I need some help. I was karting yesterday, and I did okay I guess, not the best laptime, but still fine. What I need help with is the turns, I have a picture of the track, so it would be nice if someone could copy it from this picture it from this link (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/189/bana4.png/) and write like a driveline.
Maybe do like this:

Red = Gas
Blue = brake
Yellow = don't do anything (hope u understand what i mean)
Green = halfgas, just gas a little bit.

I would appreciate it so much if someone did this! :)

I can, if you tell me which direction the track is (i assume clockwise).

But really, given that none of us have driven these karts or ever been to this track it won't be accurate in practice, so it probably won't help you.

Nail the braking before the corners Dont turn while braking can screw your lap

This is only partly right. You don't brake before corners and turn in unless it's absolutely necessary (i.e. if it's a 90 degree sharp tight turn or a hairpin). Most corners on a proper karting track you try to control just by taking your foot off the accelerator and applying the brake / controlling the slide through the corner as necessary, turning the wheel as little as you can to make your way through entry and exit of the corner.

I've had a look at your videos Ninchin, and that's quite a simply layout, almost an oval, and not particularly fast karts, so it's not the same as what you'd do in a fast kart on a full blown track.

Certainly you don't brake and turn in to that many corners if you're racing proper karts, and indeed you do brake whilst mid turn (just not hard braking). It's not the same as F1, much more like rallying.

Well the carts are much faster inside!
speed trap said i was doing 35mph!

I know what you mean - they do feel a lot faster inside than they look on camera. To give you a comparison though, the recent ones I was racing were 200cc 40mph+ karts on a full indoor circuit including steep gradients and hairpins, and I've raced karts in the past up to 70mph outdoors. If you don't learn how to control a kart outdoors at that speed you could be causing yourself or others pretty severe danger, so I'm always weary about people not being given quite accurate information - not when it could cause more problems than it solves. :)
