I have been at the call centre selling wine today. It happens to be a bank holiday. People do not like being called up on a bank holiday. Enough said. I need to rest my weary head.

What? You call people cold? I hate those calls!!

Woah! They're NOT cold calls! Customers are part of a wine club and should expect them. Whether or not they want to buy wine or not at a given time is another matter. :teacher:

Well, that's not freezing, but still cold (lukewarm at the least :P ) :irked:
Hope you sweeten the deal with a charming personal touch to the call?

Some of us have to make ends meet by doing crappy jobs like this, to complement what we want to do in life, unfortunately DD. I don't want to spend my life prattling about wine to people I really don't care for, or want to speak to, but that's how it goes. C'est la vie. Of course I sweeten the call, I'm a bloody legend.

What would you say to me if I called you up and was offering you some really expensive Chablis? What would you say to me... your very own, dear, darling Lew???:wink:

Since I don't do white wine, I'd say that you can shove it where the sun don't shine, honey!

Ewww... and then he'd sell that bottle to someone else?

I'd much rather find a 15 dollar bottle of wine I really like, than find an 80 dollar bottle of wine I love.

Today I will be going to Twickenham to watch London Irish destroy Saracens.

I may also have a pint or 6 of Guinness. :drink:
