The ultimate thrill seeker and no matter how far we reach into space and what other worlds we land on his name will always be remembered.

Get with the program... they've moved on to faking Mars landings now.

Are there actually conspiracy theorists today who think they know better than the Russians who were tracking Apollo at the time?

I doubt there would be anyone in a better position or better qualified to spot any anomaly than the Russians who were working on doing the same thing. And it's not exactly something they would keep to themselves. Unless of course, you think the cold war was a hoax too.

Or that the Japanese who have photographed the landing sites are also 'in on it'

The beat the Russians so there is no need to go to play at going to the moon now. Plus fuel prices were a bit steep and these moon rockets gobble up the four star like it's going out of fashion. They should have used diesel. A bit more pricey but they'd have got a better mileage out of a tank. :hehe:

This guy was a big hero of mine, about the same level that Senna was. Not only for the moon landings but for all the other things he did in his life. lets face it I am sure Senna would of loved a go in an X-15

Any picture I see like the above now (man on a moon) reminds me of that disturbing B movie, Apollo 13 or smth which came out about a year ago.

You're thinking of Apollo 18 with the alien moon spiders.

The Apollo 13 astronauts never made it to the surface, one of the oxygen tanks blew up on the way there but they had to carry on round the moon before coming back. That was the Tom Hanks movie which as far as I know kept pretty true to life.

Real image of the damage.

They were SO good at faking the lunar program missions, they even faked failure for added realism.

Coming to think of it, they even faked that mirror on the lunar surface that anyone with a $1500 budget can buy a laser and point it to a certain coordinate and receive a reflection of that beam back to earth. I just haven't come up with a good explanation on how the mirror got to the lunar surface.

That bit at the end of Apollo 18, I don't care who you are, you would never of run so fast in your life as he did to get to the luna lander.
