I had my test drive today, and I can not put it into words what it was like so I will quote Sir Jackie Stewart

you probably experience more in 7 minutes and 6 or 7 seconds than most people have experienced in all their life in the way of fear and the way of tension and the way of animosity towards machinery.

One word

Awesome

I can only dream of the intensity of a drive in a car like that, pic's we need pic's!!!
I can also only hope that, if you knew you were going on this test drive, that you have video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not, however I am off to look at one tomorrow that I might buy. will post pics if I buy it.

The biggest thing that struck me was how sharp the turn in was, I felt I could put the front wheels exactally where I wanted them.

I'd love to drive a Caterham one day, apparently helps improve car control as well. :)

Yuo can pick them up quite cheap (c. £7k+) and apparently insurance is really cheap on them. However, they are a little too hard-core for me...I like my luxuries such as a roof and heating!

Ooh excellent! Is it an everyday car, or just something for the weekend? £170....wow, people had said the insurance was cheap - I didn't realise it was that good!! What sort of engine has it got in it?

To be honest it is not as fast as my Evo (which will be going up for sale soon) but a lot more fun to drive

Dude that ROCK'S I'm so jealous, in a good way ! What powerplant did you get, I have not researched the engine option's, and a simple low boost turbo kit will make that car come alive! The scenery you are exposed too and in that car, dude life must be sweet, enjoy in good health now we need video :wink: !

At one time there was a Caterham kit that used the 4AGE from the Corolla GTS/MKI MR2 which is a great option for high rpm's/high reliabilty and inexpensive part's and as well has a HUGE 'aftermarket/performance' following.

The guy at Caterham I delt with was a really nice bloke, just a bit out of my price range.

Mine has got an old 2050cc Ford Pinto engine with a type 9 box. not the fastest but a lot of fun, doing 35 is like doing 80 in a normal car

About as close to a kart as you can get right! Is the engine DOHC or have VVT?
