I think this shows the some enlightenment as to the technical level of phone users. The brother in law who could not get my phone to make a phone call because it made no sense to him, Is an iPhone user. He is on holiday at the moment and phoned me up to ask what the football scores where,
I said I was out and did not know.
He said can I not check on my phone,
I said I could but why did he not check on his,
his reply "I don't know how to"

I had an Asus Transformer Prime (TF201) from January to September and had a bunch of problems with it a normal user wouldn't find all the problems but for me I push devices to their limits and eventually had to get it refunded.

I'm looking at a Windows 8 tablet for my next tablet which I'll prolly get in October.

Since you're not interested in modifications and rooting, I advice getting the ipad. The ipad has a better app library so that should be perfect for you(Im a nexus 7 and kindle fire user so Im not biased towards apple)

The iPad is a good pick up and use device but it does have it's drawbacks, even more so with iOS6; no Google Maps and no YouTube, the lack of Flash support doesn't matter so much anymore as the latest versions of Android also doesn't support Flash any more, you'll get more for your money with an Android based tablet in my opinion.

Youtube can be downloaded from the appstore but yeah, the apple maps suck...!
