Well Red Bull reckon Ferrari are also doing naughty things with ride height!

Possibly trying to deflect attention elsewhere, but really, still haven't heard any true official confirmation that any team has run such systems, so taking everything regarding this with a pinch of salt until anything is confirmed.

There was never any denial from RedBull that they had a system that could be adjusted by hand and Horner has said that there are things that can be changed by hand but the FIA prefer them to use tools, so they do. The only denial was that they ever used it to make any changes in parc ferme.

It was something that could either be changed by hand or by tool, but the FIA said they preferred it was a tool that was used

Which seems a bit of a strange thing to say considering the rule:

34.8 In order that the scrutineers may be completely satisfied that no alterations have been made to the suspension systems or aerodynamic configuration of the car (with the exception of the front wing) whilst in post-qualifying parc ferme, it must be clear from physical inspection that changes cannot be made without the use of tools.

And now RedBull are saying Ferrari have the same thing on their car but Ferrari are denying it!

This all throws up a lot of questions.

Marko is completely off the deep end and desperate to deflect attention away from Red Bull. Although he's no stranger to stupid comments, he was smart enough to leave himself an out if it backfires on him. He's trying to portray the F2012 as having a ride height hand adjustment, but what he has left as his backstop is the F10 and its suspension adjustment capabilities. The F10 did indeed have the ability to have its rider height altered during a pit stop. However, it was only achievable with a tool and there is nothing illegal about being able to adjust ride height with a tool.

Not trying to be pernickety but ride height itself has no specific measurement under any FiA rules. Also, teams are perfectly able to adjust and change their cars ride height. The two issues at hand, as are well pointed out in the ref to the rules above are that it must require a tool to change and it cannot be done in Parc Ferme.

Also as to clarify, Parc Ferme ends when the race starts, so all the Parc Ferme rules apply even while the cars are gridding up etc.

Actually when has Ferrari cheated? I can't really recall....what I recall is a lot of whinging and whining from Ferrari to get other teams' innovations/engines banned since they're too stupid to think of stuff themselves, and having rogue employees giving their documents away to rival teams on a silver platter, and more whinging and whining, and..

Remember when they had a double win with Schumacher and Barrichello, when they ran the race with completely new, illegal wings, that were later (oh, miracle) declared legal by FIA. Also, I can never forget that farce with McLaren, when the team was stripped of all their points, under accusations that they were spying (007, Laren, McLaren). Further more, even if it was like "not connected" with Ferrari, remember last season and the rule changes on Silverstone, everything within one weekend, just so it could suit Ferrari.

Yeah, but their barge boards didn't give a significant performance advantage...so I don't think it was cheating, just poor quality control?

The spygate scandal, yeah...I don't understand what McLaren did wrong to get a record fine. I mean, if the right hand of a multi millionaire comes to me and gives me papers to transfer his assets to me I'm just going to sign those papers. I certainly wouldn't expect the police to come after me...it was just good business! :D

As for Silverstone debacle....again it wasn't cheating, just the FIA being complete retards and not knowing how to clamp down on the situation appropriately.

@Hammer what McLaren did wrong was incur the wrath of Mosley by having a mechanic turned team boss (Dennis) do things that silver spooned Mosley could only dream about.

On Ferrari, didn't they have illegal fexible floors at one time?

And

34.1 Each car will be deemed to be in parc ferme from the time at which it leaves the pit lane for the first time during qualifying practice until the start of the race. Any car which fails to leave the pit lane during qualifying practice will be deemed to be in parc ferme at the end of Q1.
