So can this thread go into 'thoughts to ponder' or pure 'anger/frustration at what a b**ch life is'?

Myself, just back from a 6 day vacation to Pattaya/Bangkok...and the country did change my perspective on life a bit.

I actually stayed in Bangkok for 6 years (this was during my early teens so was strictly on parents' leash at that time and had no chance to explore the darker side of Pattaya.

Highly enjoyable in many ways, and I did visit the gogo bars, Rasputins and Emmanuels (had friends who didn't mind paying for action) and realized how cheaply women are able to sell themselves (and probably their souls) daily.

I don't expect women to remain virgins till they're married of course (it'd be a crappy world :P ) but some things you see in go go bars (classified as entertainment) actually made me ponder rather sadly, on how people might actually feel inside. Do they actually enjoy what they do? Surely none of them have ambitions of ending up in gogo bars when they're young and doing quite absurd things with their bodies to entertain people who actually DO get entertained by their actions (which sadly, are many out there).

I guess when the cash is tight, you have much lesser options. Plus, minus a decent education and an individual could get well and truly lost. So I'm guessing in a matter of perspective, the fact that education is absent to a major group of locals in Thailand leads to what they think is 'ok' as an occupation and don't really realize what they are sacrificing in the end? I can't be sure, as I don't know any of them personally and trying to have a discussion with them is quite impossible of course.

Deep thought rant over. Great trip, highly enlightening in many ways and many lessons learned I guess.

Many probably dream of getting married away from their misery by some rich tourist...

You see a bit of that around the dark, dank back streets of London.....

Not that I spend an awful lot of time there myself :hehe:

Well, after a fun day's filming in Brighton yesterday, I was once again immersed in the jovial world of the call centre again today. Boo. Hiss.

And once again, I found the rudest customer to be woman of the cloth. She was abrupt and condescending throughout our futile conversation. She grew even worse when she complained that the company do not sell wines from British Columbia, of all frigging places. As if to pin the whole issue of not serving her personal tastes on my own supposed ignorance, she tested me by asking where British Columbia was. I answered her, and hung up. Vile b!tch.

It makes me laugh, because clearly the vicious, dogmatic, doctrine she follows and preaches, the foul fantasy to which she has decided to dedicate her whole life, has had little effect on her conduct, her manner and the way she relates to her fellow human beings. Or maybe it has done, actually. I see it in plenty of vicars that I call up. Quite often, they are the most unceremonious of all the disgusting people that I am forced to speak to in order to make ends meet.

I continued to work in a supervisory role which would be fine if I had been asked and was being paid to do that after having a newbie dumped in the area I that I am currently working in. The gaffer spoke to one of my other colleagues (who is off on a couple days holiday until next week) but not me. Next thing I know I'm showing the guy what to do! Luckily he's cottoned on real quick but I'm not happy at kind of being responsible for someone else and not being paid to act in that capacity. I don't mind helping someone out if they're stuck but I didn't realise I was in a position to give training! Plus I only passed my first 3 month period the week before last! :irked:

I rather be getting paid for doing it. You can't take the feeling of honour to Tesco to buy a pint of coo juice with.

You could look at it as a long term investment in your future - take the time to train him, and when the next promotion comes along, you can prove you already have supervisory experience...?

Plus for now, you can have him as your lacky. No more tea making for Mr.Andrew for a while.....

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. I'm still only just over 3 months in the door. The next step up in a supervisor and the boss has his near useless blue eyed boy for that.

Phwarr, lucky b!stard! :P:whip:

Meh, the place is a poorly managed disaster zone that I am getting more and more frustrated and demoralised with as each day goes by but thankfully I'm not unique in feeling like this - it's pretty much everyone!
