Lewis Hamilton did a good job today, maintained the gap to win the race, great drive from Raikkonen to finish second ahead of Grosjean. Very odd strategy for Button from McLaren, the decision to switch to a three stopper ruined JB's race, coming out behind Senna was disastrous on a track that is hard to pass on and the Williams is not a slow car...

Maldonado in trouble again, barging Paul di Resta off the track, deserved drive through penalty, good to see Senna bring home a decent result!

Well done Lewis, Lotus obviously faster on race day and he did what had to be done. Jenson obviously unable to manage tyres enough for the 2 stop strategy, shame he couldnt take points away from Alonso and Vettel.

Following the fantastic Olympic opening ceremony a great day for classy brave and multicultural Britain

And only a one second pit stop screw up for Lewis, well done McLaren!

So many places that want to host a F1 race and you still have to include Hungary on the Circuit?
This couldn't be any more boring. The only cars that were actually passed on the track were HRT and Marussia...
I mean I get it with Monaco – boring track in terms of overtaking possibilities, but as a compensation you get a unique atmosphere and a race that's really challenging for the drivers. But, here... seriously, I don't get it...

i belive senna got past by alonso aswell, i get a feeling lewis wouldve found a way to overtake if therd been anyone in front of him :P not the best track by any means but still great race, didnt know who was going to win right till the end

Vettel showing his true colours... "I'm faster than him, do something....do something!" Erm.......is Vettel not the driver then? It beggars belief!!

Indeed, asks his team to do something so and somehow they get martin to pit button :/, wierd wierd decision

They have been doing something... skirting regulations left and right.

The scuderia really made the best of a bad situation today, it's as if the stars are aligned for Alonso, even on a bad day he comes way ahead of Webber and the two biggest points getters were the two that were most behind him on points... not even Button was able to take a spot from him in order to help Hamilton a little.

But given the Ferrari's performance today, I wonder if they also weren't somewhat affected by the EBD rule clarification that's obviously caught Red Bull. Most of Ferrari's changes have centered around the exhaust...

Lotus had the biggest points haul of the day and they're doing more for their WCC bid than McLaren! Although Lewis controlled the entire race weekend from Friday to Sunday, it's clear that without consistent results by Button, they won't be able to hold off the Lotus duo in the WCC.

Yep, after hearing Vettel's orders, it makes you wonder what buttons they could twiddle with from the pits, as it was, McLaren helped them out by crazily twiddling with THE Button & calling him in for a stop. :irked: I just don't get that team sometimes......no, most of the time!! :banghead: Great win for Lewis though. Shame Webber couldn't have been a bit further up the points or at least in front of Alonso.

As for Maldonado............ :censored::thumbdown:

Depends, Grosjean hasn't exactly been so consistent either.

I've seen one comment that described the race as a bore, but I disagree. Sure, there wasn't a great deal of in-your-face on track action, but the battles at the front were more than intriguing. I was kept on edge through out, as Lotus kept McLaren completely honest. Great racing, and apart from the first corner lock-up, Lewis didn't put a foot wrong. Fully deserved victory.

Jenson Button's race on the other hand was very frustrating, as he spent much of it stuck behind slower cars. I feel there were at least two occasions, when the decision to bring him in was not the best, considering the outcome. As a result, Lotus are keeping McLaren on their toes in the WCC.

Ferrari, of course, have now dropped to 4th, while Red Bull's lead has been reduced. Their hold on P1 certainly doesn't look as monstrous as before. Fernando Alonso continues to bring the car home strongly, and this is helping him extend his WDC lead even further, what with Mark Webber's lowly finish in 8th.

Mercedes will no doubt be gathering their thoughts after only bringing home 1 point. The Silver Arrows have looked completely off the pace all weekend. An interesting point is that Sauber are only 26 points behind them, but the Swiss boys did little to assist their WCC campaign in Budapest today.

Special mention must go to Bruno Senna, who pulled off an excellent 7th place finish, which takes him up to just 5 points behind his erratic team-mate Pastor Maldonado. The Venezuelan really needs to cool it. In barging Paul di Resta off, he's putting together an alarming tally of incidents and penalties. :nono:

At least the ever-disgruntled Seb managed to salvage something from his nondescript weekend... fastest lap, of course.

Well done to Lewis and team. Give the guy a reasonable car and do everything just about right (a slow pit stop today but...) and he will win. Just that simple. What made his drive more masterful today is his maturity in managing those tyres despite the pressure from Kimi looming ever closer in his mirrors. Nice!

I'm just saying...

Yes I was watching closely how Lewis and Kimi were driving, and Lewis was clearly sticking to his guns in not overdriving. Kimi had to do the overdriving to catch up today and that probably lost him the Lotus-tyre advantage in the end, anyway fantastic drive from Lewis under all that pressure he soaked from the Lotus guys. He's proved he can be as much a 'thinking driver' as anyone else out there today. Champions drive.
