^^We need a modern track too so it should be Istanbul Park and a soulful one which is Monza  Add those too :D

That made me so happy,it is the best news about the calendar I've read so far.Now time to remove some crappy ones(start with Valencia) and add Turkey back  I can dream too :cloud9:

I didn't care for Istanbul Park. Sepang and Suzuka suffice for modern tracks.

Istanbul Park is a fantastic venue, thanks largely to the eventful race in 2011. :hehe:

Ah,I know you think so.Sepang and Suzuka has been on the track for quite a long time compared to Istanbul Park.

2006 was enough to tell me Istanbull is a fantastic race track. Lewis in GP2 moving from, pretty well last, following a spin to 2nd place. No Drs, same cars. magic!!

Whether you like or dislike Hamilton , if you like motor racing you have to love this. The master at work! But he couldnt have done it on a crappy track like Valencia, Catalunya, Bahrain et al.

I too, have always declared myself a big fan of Istanbul Park. It's introduction back in 2005 saw a brand new legendary corner... Turn 8, a corner which embarrassed both Jacques Villeneuve and Juan Pablo Montoya that year, and that's just from distant memory.

Fantastic, undulating circuit, with a good mix of long straights and fast corners. It's a shame it's no longer on the calendar, IMO.

The crowds were always, quite sadly, too small. :(

The stands were packed the year I went. It wasn't marketed right.
I cant post pics at the moment because of some plug in thing I need but I'll sort one out of istanbul 2006 with packed grandstands.

All around the circuit? Packed out as in Silverstone-style?

No, not as in Silverstone style. Grandstands full 'village' area lively but general entry areas not. And I think it deteriorated after that year and was subsequently sparsly attended.....which is a great shame!.

My avatar is from Istanbul park that year.

Yes, it's a circuit I really do miss. One of Tilke's very best.

If we're flowing back into old tracks we want to see back, I vote Donington Park.

If it wasn't in my country it would still be one of my favorite modern tracks because of this.Way better than the contemporary ones.Btw,I also liked the first turn, when I went to watch the race there. It was a shame that the crowds were small,it is about the view of people here, what they think about motorsports, also their view about how to spend their money and time,I knew people who didn't want to bother traffic.

You made a correct observation because that's just what happened after 2006.There haven't been a Senna picture either,as in your avatar!
In 2011 it was kinda like what you told ,the grandstands were almost full whereas the other areas weren't.
