And what was it that you found out that you needed? I am at a loss here because there is nothing I could possibly have given you.

They're not my drivers, they drive for the team that got shafted by the FIA. No Ferrari parts were found on the McLaren cars despie desperate attempts by some parties to say there were. However the flexi floors most definately were found on the ferraris despite a top ferrari engineer questioning their legality ...

You do follow McLaren don't you or do you just follow ITV's Icon Lewis Hamilton with the Union Jack blowing behind him.

Macca had the data, doesnt matter if they used or not they had it. Simple as.

Just another blind F1 fan...

Not really.

For owning data, they should have been fined with big money, but their cars would still be perfectly lega thus their race results should remain.

For using data (which was not proven), they should have been stripped off their points and disqualified for the season.

At least, that is the way I see it - regardless team involved.

As it is - striping team, leaving drivers, leting Renault go just like that and threatening next team with disqualification is a mess that even my hamster left alone in the paper shop could not achieve.

Sometimes I seriouly wonder if the situation were the other way around and Ferrari were excluded from the championship allowing McLaren to win if then Nikon133's quite valid point would then still be valid for McLaren Fan. I wonder? Max Moseley wont be President of the FIA forever and eventually someone else that perhaps does not supposedly favour Ferrari might take his place. If that were to happen and a situation occured were Ferrari got shafted I again question weather McLaren Fan would have the same ideals as he has now. I guess there is no point talking about until it ever happens, if it ever happens for that matter. But in this instance doubt has clearly clouded my mind.

surely this has gone on long enough, and the renault case was very different to the mclaren case

I'd give McLaren Fan the benefit of the doubt - he CAN be very objective and impartial (if he wants to :) ) and I would expect him to point out the injustice inflicted on Ferrari or any other team for that matter. Not sure I'd say the same about some other members here :twisted::wink:

It is pointless question because we can know for sure only when something like that happens. But then again, his reaction has nothing to do with just treatment of all teams - something FIA is failing to present so far.

Well, each case is different, but it's hard to believe there was no material for a fine. They did have McLaren data on their computers, much as I remember.

Sometimes I wonder if McLaren and Renault haven't made a deal outside of FIA's judging, something that did involve Heiki move to McLaren (or Heiki and Alonso exchange).

You've asked me this before, if I remember rightly, and I said I want there to be an even playing field for all teams involved. That's not just for McLaren, but all of the other teams. I'm a sports fan and a McLaren fan, so seeing the team win championships with assistance for the FIA or cheating would mean very little to me, for it's not in the spirit of sport or McLaren.

As I've also said on this forum, I want the FIA completely reformed so that the President is more accountable and not a law onto himself, as is currently the case, and WMSC reformed too so that teams have equal voting rights, these amongst a host of measures which need looking at. By advocating that, I'd say it looks as though I don't want any team to be favoured.
