So by your logic 8 ball the Maylasian race has to go. the new Singapore race has to go poo even japan and china should go

funny with F1 moving towards the Asian Market its the Euro races that will be on "the other side of the world"

sorry 8 ball but your post wreaks of Euro ignorance thats almost level to that of an American!

To the best of my knowledge China, Japan & maylasia all make profits from staging a grand prix. I've never heard of them in financial trouble. From a businessman's POV if it is not making a profit why continue to produce it. Blind ozzy loyalty is not going to make the GP turn a profit.

Hang on your reasoning
Australia would not be in this problem if they were not on the other side of the world

the state government of Victoria which hosts the GP is making a loss its a local phenom so what has that got to do with Australia being on the other side of the world? the GP didnt make a loss when it was held in Adelaide!

. It costs F1 too much to get there

Malaysia and Singapore are a stones throw away from Australia so shall they be scrapped in your idea? ALso Japan and China are on very close time zones to that of Australian states, Japan is the same as Adelaides!

this whole debacle has to do with Bernie wanting TV viewers in Europe and wanting a night race.
While the issue of Melbourne making a loss is one thing, the Australian GP should live on but in another state! back HOME to Adelaide or try a new venue in Sydney or the Gold Coast!

I dont think Australians would care if we lose it! They love the V8s here, while Melbourne makes a loss with the F1 race the old Adelaide F1 street circuit is being used by the V8 Supercars with the event called the Clipsal 500 which has bigger crowds than the Melbourne GP and more importantly makes a profit for the S.A. government!!
But i think Melbourne has shown each year they do not know how to run the event and its time for it to leave!

I'd love to see an F1 race at Adelaide again, some classic races over the years there. An awesome track too that beats anything Mr H Tilke can design.

Yes it costs f1 a lot of money to get to singapore, malaysia and australia but the difference is the asian races make a profit. Business wise it makes sense to drop the grand prix in melbourne. If the grand prix moves to adelaide and it makes a profit i'm sure bernie will keep it on the calendar

To be honest, I think that, within reason of course, it is dangerous to allow only numbers decide where we have Grands Prix. Whatever Ecclestone loses in going to Australia is a drop in the ocean compared to what he makes throughout the course of the season. There are certain Grands Prix that should not be dropped, unless things are very seriously wrong. Australia is one of them. Why? Well, one reason is that Formula One is meant to be a world championship and, as such, the sport should be looking to bring action from all over the globe. As a result, I would like to see Australia stay, as part of the Australasian region, I would like to see the US Grand Prix return as soon as possible, I would like to see an African Grand Prix, and I think it's good that the sport has some Grands Prix in Asia, for instance, China.

What has Melbournes profit/loss got to do with Bernie anyway 8ball? he is getting paid his fee regardless if the Vic government isnt making money.

All he wants his for the opening GP to have a friendlier timeslot for European TV viewers by making this stance in hope of using it as a scare tactic for Ron Walker to make Melbourne a night race or lose it!

I always love it that the season starts bright and early in the morning. Really bright and early! Just feels more exciting for some reason, and I'm already looking forward to it. 39 days to wait. Seemed like 139 days to wait not long ago, time flies

Still at least you can lie in bed whilst you watch it and get someone to serve you breakfast in bed compromising off egg, bacon, sausage and black pudding. ;)
