"Maybe we don't want to be in Australia," Ecclestone said. "Our costs are very high in Australia and we get a lot less money. It's bloody bad for us.

"We've got quite a few places on the list which would like to have Formula One and as it seems your guy down there doesn't want Formula One, we can make him happy and make the other people happy," the British billionaire added.

Ecclestone said sponsors and manufacturers support his stance about Australia, including a strict ultimatum about needing the race to be held at night if it were to stay on the calendar.

"If we were to continue to be there, we would have to have a night race," he said, also ruling out moving the event to a different Australian state.

Bud, you'd better get your down under network going and collect signatures, send letters and emails and what not...

Good riddance to your four wheeled poser boy circus Bernie.
Bernie seems to think that F1 is the source of all light and creation.
No humanity in that man, cold robotic monetary gain and lust for power.
Can someone help me out here, please?:shock::shock::shock:

I think, I'm catching on DD  , that it would be a great loss not to have an Australian GP.

Bernie has really screwed alot of F1 fan's just to make himself richer with his greed and he does not need the money. As he constantly state's F1 is the most watched sport in the word with billion's of people watching every race! If that's true then it should be very very easy for him to have a F1 race in every major nation/country of the world! We now have so many socially and economically superb city's and nation's who deserve this kind of recognition and respect I dont understand?

Thank's to his arrogance and greed we no longer have a US GP or a GP of Africa just to name a few.

I hope everyone understand's what I am trying to say as my word's and meaning's more often than not get twisted around because I tend to ramble :wink: .

Gregg

PS,
There is a certain aura to the Aussey GP being the start of the season which I cannot put into word's I hope we do not loose it  !

If Singapore proves successful then they should make Melbourne a night race. And that is Melbourne, Victoria and not any other state or city. Not Adelaide, not Sydney, not Brisbane, not Gold Coast, only MELBOURNE! :D

I read in Melbourne's Herald Sun (i live there) that we were not paying him enough for the holding the race and no other aussie city will get it (adelaide, phillip island, eastern creek, surfers).
Money, plain and simple. Last year the race ran at a $23 million aud loss!
The costs kept adding up, most people here are not to phased, he has threatened us for years to dare not kiss his royal buttox.
Motorsport is still alive, moto gp, fia wrc, hillclimbing, f1 is one of many we all love.
Let bernie suck sour grapes and talk tough, we will live on.

I dont think Australians would care if we lose it! They love the V8s here, while Melbourne makes a loss with the F1 race the old Adelaide F1 street circuit is being used by the V8 Supercars with the event called the Clipsal 500 which has bigger crowds than the Melbourne GP and more importantly makes a profit for the S.A. government!!
But i think Melbourne has shown each year they do not know how to run the event and its time for it to leave!

Australia would not be in this problem if they were not on the other side of the world. It costs F1 too much to get there and viewing audiences are some of the lowest of the year. I say it would be a shame to lose the race in australia but from a business point of view it should have been scrapped years ago
