Now watch this and tell me this guy has what it takes. Ferrari F-40, practically a road going Formula 1 car. The fastest production road car back in 1987. I wish it were me driving this car that you will see in the link below. It is only about a minute long so worth a watch. This happened in Japan by the way.

Charged with reckless driving - says it all, on a track fine, on a motorway the guy must have been a total retard, how stupid can someone get.

Well the guy got caught because he was dumb enough to sell copies of him doing it to the world. Ie it ended up in police hands by error. Although in this particular case the guy may of been an idiot as he was doing it on a motorway in Japan, people in Germany tend to do this a lot on their autobahns. Are they all idiots as well? Well if I ever do this one day (Need to get my hands on a fast Ferrari or Porsche) I certainily wont be game enough to do it on Japanese motorway, I'll leave it for when in Germany as their roads and drivers are far better. :D

As you say, "THEIR roads and DRIVERS are far better", they have no speed limits (just in some cases, not on the entire autobahn) because THEY are conscious, it's not a place for the foreigners where to have fun..

My point exactly, he was caught bragging via him selling copies. Going at that speed in an uncontrolled enviroment (i.e not on a track with saftey rules and checks et al) is stupid and I don't beleive every driver in Germany does that, so no they are not all idiots. As for German drivers being better, they may well be, but just because they have few speed limits does not make them so.

They're just used to having no speed limits and thus, are more aware of real fast cars coming from behind. They know it would be suicide to drive on the left most lane with 130km/h because everybody else on that lane drives at least 150km/h. So, that makes them better Autobahn drivers.

Concerning the Autobahn I learned recently that the 'left lane' is strictly a passing lane and cannot be used as a permanent driving lane. I believe I got this info from the thread I started about RUF's history if I am not mistaken?

When you drive 220km/h you ARE passing cars all the time, so you WILL be in the left most lane PERMANENTLY.

When I did 220km/h back in Croatia Autoput I was always in the left. But then I was the one doing 220km/h. Overthere it was unlikely someone was going to approach from behind going even faster. In Germany that is another story as people do more than 220km/h. People there go 300 plus! But the Germans are not the best. If they can do it so can I because Italians :) now we have it in the blood even though my blood isn't true Italian *LOL*

I challenge you going faster than the Germans in a Fiat 500 or Fiat Uno or whatever the currently most popular model in Italy may be

So are you telling me Crappy Fiats are the best cars Italians have. Not if you have money. What about Alfa Romeo and Maserati. And then again who says I need to buy one. All I need to do is hire one for a day or so, so in this case I have my doors open to even having a Ferrari. But German cars are no problem as I like them. I love Porsche and the car I did 220 km/h in the wet on Croatia's Motorway was in a BMW 540i anyway. My point is if German drivers can do it so can I and any other nationality for that matter. Germans are not a gift from God you know. :)

I was just disputing your statement that Italians have it in their blood. The majority of the people have crappy small cars and they have speed limits (that they don't follow, but still...). Germans have had good cars and no speed limits for ages, so they are more likely used to high speeds than Italians. That's all I'm saying.

Your statement is fair enough Darwin_Dali. Can't really argue with that. Most Germans do own better cars than in Italy and all of southern Europe for that matter. I've always wondered what it would be like in Sweden? Are they like the Germans. Their roads etc. I love Saab and I love Swedish (learning it at the moment). I own a Blue 1999 Viggen Coupe just like the picture on my avatar. Do you think Swedes have the roads like the Germans have and given that Saabs and even Volvos to a certain extent are much faster than Fiats and similar to BMWs, do you think they are speed demons as well?
