Hey is there any chance of Hamilton being Knighted? Say if he wins this years' WDC. :D

We could then issue warnings to the haters if they simply referred to him as "Hamilton" or "Lewis"...the Sir becomes a mandatory inclusion. :D

Haters will sound a lot better:

"I don't think Sir Lewis is the same class as Alonso"

"Sir Lewis really messed up there"

"Sir Hamilton needs to learn from a thinking driver like Button and go slower"

"Yeah yeah, Sir Lewis did win the race, but I think Vettel deserved it since Sir Lewis annoys me"

:hehe:

Damned if I know but he's famous. Those types eventually get one just for being alive. He'd deserve it as much as his drivers.

I'm not so sure, popularity is normally rewarded sure, but that's sort of the point of national awards isn't it? People who have contributed to the nation, really popular people would have done so.

I wouldn't say Whitmarsh though, is particularly famous or popular, would people who don't watch F1 know who he is?

It wasn't a dig at Whitmarsh relative to other F1 personal, you said he's famous with reference to getting a knighthood, I assumed that meant fame beyond the sphere of F1 fans.
