I remember when Sydney 2000 games were on, At the time I was still going to school, And they gave us and all schools around Australia a 2 week Holiday because of the games :D And also some factories, companies and whatever a 2 week break aswell which was pretty cool. Is there a simular thing happen over there around the UK?

My wife's company is letting people 'work from home' for a fortnight, that's about it.

The schools will already be on summer holiday I believe.

You'll feel better if you use the centimeter side of the ruler.

...aaaand since we need to get back to the Olympic theme of this thread, they use metric measurements in the Olympics.

Lewis Hamilton will carry the London Olympic torch next Monday in what he has described as an "incredibly proud moment ".

The McLaren driver had initially been asked to carry the torch through Stevenage, however, was not able to as that leg of the journey takes place as the British GP is set to start.

Hamilton, though, will not have to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity as he will now run with the torch on the Monday.

"I am so honoured to have been asked to do it," he told Reuters describing it as an "an incredibly proud moment.

"I never in a million years would have thought I'd get to do something so cool.

"I have no idea where I'll be running but it's great to be the one."

Hamilton deserve that.
