Can some of you please tell my why i should go? and please tell me some more pros and cons? The reason for all of this is that i never have been to a race before, always watched them at home. :)

Expense is the main thing for me, which is why, at the moment, I can't make it an annual adventure. But being there is tremendous. You're amongst hundreds of thousands of like-minded, passionate F1 fans, with noise, colour and lots of food and drink (burgers are expensive though). There are massive screens all round the circuit, so if you situate yourself near one of those, you'll be fine.

It's something that all F1 fans should do at least once.

Better off saving your money for a bit longer and going to a track like Spa or Monza.

So....ANYWAY....

Anyone want to guess on a winner....?

Could be a Merc win if the track temperature is cool. Failing taht it'll either be Vettel or Alonso.

NOOOOOOOOOO! Silverstone is ACE! Im planning my menus tonight :P making the cakes next week :D Soooo excited now :P:P

It's not a patch on Spa or Monza though but I've never liked Silverstone. Personally I find it flat and featureless - there's just nothing that makes me get excited about the race here. Maybe it's different being there.

I'd pick Silverstone over Monza though. Maybe because it's a lot more fun playing it on games...Monza is just a bunch of straights connected by irritating chicanes!

Ive not been to Spa but would love to go, its an ACE track But Silverstone! :cloud9: I prefer it (and all the great stuff that goes wth it ), to Monza

Because the atmosphere the whole weekend is just amazing! You can see on screens and listen on your radio to the silverstone broadcast. Toilet queues at Becketts not great. Everything else great. Post race party a MUST! Lots of the drivers interviewed on stage. party atmosphere. fair, pubs, disco's and BBQ's. The sound, the smell. Bring it on!! Ive been going for about 15yrs.

If you're going this year mate, you go and enjoy yourself and get horribly drunk :drink: . Hope a Brit wins, no matter which one.

I want to go to next years Sliverstone race, just can't risk going on my bad back at the moment. It sounds electrifying. Been a few years ago, but I was under age so I couldn't get drunk 8-).

Not that I would wish to encourage underage drinking of course......but we always take our own :P Wine or champers at the track for quali and wine with BBQ!'s at night. We dont drink at the track Sunday. A worrying thing last year is for the first time we were asked if we had bottles in our bags (on race day) we hadnt, but we had the day before, so might have take a box of wine instead :P

So by Saturday night you'll be slaughted on alcohol....lovely!!! :D. If you take a box of wine it won't rattle when you move the bag so you'll be safe

I'm gonna try to make it to next years Silverstone GP. You and anyone else going, have an awesome time!!

You guys should look into the rum runner pouches

http://www.amazon.com/Rum-Runner-Cruise ... rum+runner

People use these to get their own booze onto cruise ships. Wrap em in shirts, slip em into your shoes, pants, where ever you can stick em with something and they don't really show up on xray. Read the reviews and you'll get the run down...or should I say the rum down??

 ok that was lame, but funny, :censored: off!! :P

I dont think the booze is the issue, its the glass bottles. And it was never an issue till last year.
In your shooes? :yikes: Wouldnt get much wine in there. In your knickers? :yikes: How would that work?? If its hot Im in vest top and shorts, not much space to hide booze. Id have to dress like those guys that wear trousers hanging off their bottom, and the baggy bit could be full of booze :rofl:

 Sorry, I meant to slip them into pants and shoes that you have in your luggage or whatever :hehe:

But hey if you got a small 6-8oz pouch of everclear you wouldn't need the 36oz pouch

If the issue is glass bottles are you allowed to bring your own booze in plastic recyclable bottles?

Yes. Taking booze in isnt a problem, so a box of wine will be ok. Unless they spring a new rule at the gates.
Ah trousers/pants I see. :hehe:

only luggage going in the track will be food, booze, gadgets, money, suncream..ok maybe trousers in case it goes cold....and i guess waterproof......... ok a bit of luggge going in :P
