While Ferrari are celebrating their win, I bet they are fearful of Vettel's pace. He was about a second a lap quicker than Hamilton all throughout the race.

That was a Awesome race, probably the best this year for me personally, especially with the great escape for Webber starting from 19th. As for the Maldonado/Hamilton thing, that just worked out so well for Schumi and Webber so thankyou Maldonado for your brainless driving

It's black and white, if McLaren had a NORMAL pitstop, Alonso would NEVER have led the race...meaning Lewis would never have to race a whackjob.

Whitmarsh needs to be kicked in the ar*e.

Hey everyone, frequent guest and viewer of the board, but I thought I'd join to put in a few thoughts of what was a very interesting race.

First off, Vettel was in cruise control for the first half of the race, and was pulling away very slightly at the beginning of the restart until his car failed him. Had to believe that it would've been a vintage 2011 Vettel win, where he just surges ahead and creates a gap in first place. Shame for Red Bull but they've shown their strength and will be strong in the next few races. (Also mentioning Webber's ability to get the car up to 4th after his disappointing qualifying.) Also, have to feel awful for Grosjean who was performing better than Kimi for most of the race, only to be let down by his car like Vettel.

Onto the race winner Alonso, who had a manic pace from the start of the race. Granted, Vettel was leading the race most of the way but you knew something was going to happen with Alonso as he started climbing places. When he was able to jump Kimi in the pits, I knew Alonso was going to make a race out of it. Great pace all day, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. First double winner, and a clear 20 points ahead of 2nd place in the standings. Also interesting to note that with Hamilton's retirement, Alonso becomes the only driver to have scored in every race. If he can keep scoring points, the WDC is definitely possible.

Now onto the topic that will most likely be the most popular here on the boards, Maldonado vs. Hamilton. I just remember back to Monaco last year everytime these two meet, and the same outcome came about. Hamilton's frustration was evident, and I could find no reason to blame him. Maldonado will most likely claim that Hamilton closed on him too quickly, but I don't know if that argument can hold up. Shame for Lewis because he could've finished 4th or 5th, since Maldonado would've passed him on the next DRS or another corner. Kimi was patient in his pass, taking various laps to find the best opportunity. Lack of patience here from Pastor costs Hamilton, and will also cost himself a point as well.

Closing thoughts, great job to Force India, getting a 5th and a 7th. Di Resta did all he could with the one stopper, and got a similar result here like he did in Bahrain with the same strategy. Nice to see Schumi back on the podium, and hopefully now the two Merc drivers will be more on par with performance. Button looks lost, and there's not a lot of confidence. Hopefully he can pick it up in front of his home fans. And the final mention goes to Pirelli, for keeping me awake watching Valencia. Even though I'm not as happy with the 2012 Pirellis as others (because I think it takes away from driver skill), it still creates for topsy-turvy stuff where no one can predict anything. Onto Silverstone.

Could of still finished on the podium though.

McLaren need to wake the hell up.

Jenson has gone missing and he even copied Lewis's setup but still he was slow.

McLaren need updates and they need them fast.

The times are fine but you saw how much the tyres went off. Besides, Vettel was quite a bit quicker today. Assuming his altenator hadn't failed he'd have won with Hamilton 2nd. Alonso would have been a factor as well.
