Awesome race by my boy Lewis and the team, even if there were a couple of hiccups in the goshdarned pitstops. Admirable how Alonso tried to save the race, and then didn't do anything stupid after realizing he was in trouble. Very mature.

Jenson, what the hell.

Very happy for Grosjean and Perez, those kids are good.

Hey Kerc, Austin is getting closer and closer, bought your tickets today?

All I can say is surprising race. I feel sooo sooo sorry for Schumacher.

This season is rubbish and formula one is turning out to be a real farce. 7 different winners? The sport is dominated by a magic flappy thingy and tires that shred too easily. :thumbdown:

Races are hardly won by racing, although Hamilton drove an excellent drive, it seemed that only he was getting much use out of those tires. Vettel and Alonso looked too slow compared to him.

The tires are shocking this year and it's a really bitter pill to swallow. What I would like to see now is some consistency. It's really stupid trying to explain to new fans that Formula One is like this and it's the "pinnacle of racing." :bs:

I am happy for you Hamilton fans. Hopefully it is the much-needed confidence boost for both he and the team. I'm not really sure what Button did wrong? This is the same Button who dominated the first race of the season 7 races ago! The fact is Webber's pathetic excuse for most of the 2011 season applies here. The tires throw up a different lottery every race. Some drivers will adapt better than others.

E.g., Look at Seb Monaco vs. Seb Montreal! And then it changes again during the race!

The tires are the dominant factor in qualifying with lap times suddenly increasing at varying bursts... and the same thing happens in the race.

woop woop, well done Lewis. 1st win of the season, leading the championship... great place to be, going back to Europe. So looking forward to getting to Silverstone now.

Redbull / Ferrari - great battles from Alonso / Seb. Pity the team strategy choices let them down. Could of been a great battle if they had both pitted with Lewis the 2nd time.

Good to see McLaren getting on top of their pitstop curse. Still not 100% but much much better. Ted Kravitz came up with an interesting fact. They did around 40/50 pitstop practices on Thursday and SIXTY% of them were sub-3 seconds. :yikes: Just need to convert that in race day.

On the flip side, a very poor weekend again for Jenson. Really hope he turns it around soon, as the team need him to win WCC.

Gotta wait for payday on Wednesday. Argh. :censored:

Very well done Lewis. That was a sweet win taking out Seb and then Alonso towards the end. :D

I've said this before but Jenson is miles behind Lewis. He's good in the rain, but that's it.
Lewis is the number 1 man at McLaren....always was.

Lewis.....the fastest man in F1. A proper racer!! 8-)

YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! McLaren back on the victory trail!!! :thumbup::thumbup::drink::drink::clap::clap:

And a bloody good race too, lots of action at the front. On the edge of the seat stuff!

Can't believe some miserable gits are still complaining about the new regs (mainly fans of the drivers who lost today, I might add). Go and watch replays of the processions of yesteryear then! :beans::beans::director:

We could say this is the race where the natural talent has shone without distortion from weather, SCs, etc. The tyres and conditions and regulations have been the same for everyone, they have had 6 races to prepare, there have been no acts of God to affect the competition today

and there can be only one winner which there was

this is racing at its best, it has been said that cream rises to the top and boy does it froth

LH leads the WC, he has been the best driver all season despite his teams errors

The difference between team fans and driver fans is so obvious in this thread :rofl:

I have followed McLaren for 25 years and Lewis for 8.One of the many reason i always stick up for Lewis is because many people want to see him fail for no other reason than the way he looks,it's a fact.

If anyone is uncomfortable with that then stick them.

You're a mclaren fan and yet you're happy that a mclaren driver had a bad day?
That's kinda contradictory don't you think?
I understand the posters who are mainly hamilton fans but a team fan don't root against the other driver in his/her favorite team.

I can stand JB and he is letting the team down,but i can't lie and say i didn't enjoy him getting lapped.Seems you have got the hump because Lewis won and not Jenson,perhaps the same could be said for you.

I wonder how you were enjoying last year when your non starter driver was getting the best of Lewis with the help of the brittish JB groupie f1 media.Anyway,don't concern yourself with me,enjoy the Lewis win,after all you are a McLaren fan,right. :clap:

Look at my previous posts to see if I didn't enjoy this win by lewis :wink:

Big congrats to Lewis. He drove an excellent race. We have seen a different Lewis this year in terms of off track, and I'd have to say it is a big improvement IMO. I think this win shows on track the benefits of the "new improved" Lewis-the-person.

f1ea, don't be too despondent about the result. We made a huge tactical blunder and it cost us, but, for 60 plus laps, on a circuit ideal for the McLaren and bad for us we lead or were in contention. This augurs very well for Ferrari IMO. In fact I think we could be in for quite a good run to the end of the season.

Felipe and Jenson - what can I say, at least Felipe wasn't lapped by his teammate, but apparently Jenson had no grip :wink:

Could it be crossing the minds of the powers that be at McLaren to lure Kimi back next year to partner Lewis?
#306726
Felipe drove well! a spin which even DC said looked out of the drivers hands and still gets a point. uncharacteristic if you take into account other performances this season. if the team hadn't messed up his strategy like they did Alonso he could of done better too. Hamilton deserved this win but idiotic posts from his fans just reinforce why everyone else cant stand Hamilton fans.

I believe the news of Button's demise are somewhat exaggerated. Let's remind ourselves that he's still six places ahead of Massa in the WDC and can say something Massa hasn't been able to say in years... that's he's won a GP.

Let's move on, lick our wounds and look forward to Valencia, I wonder if we'll see an eighth driver win in this magical mystery tour of an F1 year.
#306731
I'm disappointed to see Jenson claim only 20 points in six races since his win in Australia; but there is still time for Jenson to turn it around, although given how close it is; even if he pulls in a string of good results, it will be tough to catch the leaders as they'll still be scoring good points as well. He'll need to score maybe two wins while his competitors no score or score low points!

LEWIS!!

CING OF KANADA!!!

:clap::clap::clap:

Whip that Button azz! :whip::whip:

Whip that Vettel azz! :whip::whip:

Whip that Alonso azz!! :whip::whip:

Show me the money!! :sickman:

:rofl: That's funny!

Seriously though, much respect to all those guys, including Jenson. Don't know what's going on with his car/setup/whatever, but hope it gets sorted soon.

It is best when those guys, including a few others, can have a fair fight at the front, in near equal machinery. That's what makes it memorable. Plus, I got a lot of confidence that my guy would come out ahead. :thumbup: And for sure, we gotta really enjoy this one. Well done LH!
