Maldonado starting 22nd cause of gearbox change, i just heard. Soz if repost...

Also potential curveball, it's supposed to be much hotter for the race later! Hopefully will help out the Lotuses

I got so excited when Kimi was burning his tyres and fighting for a good spot a few races ago, never really been a fan of his I guess it was nice to see an old face return to form.

I don't think his driving style suits the new tyres :(

Kimi? Maybe not over a lap, he's been pretty meh in qualifying, but then he never was a proper one lap specialist in my book... in races except for Monaco he's had generally pretty good pace though i think :)

Do you think his driving style doesn't suit the fast wearing tyres of this year? Schumi has been moaning about them a lot, probably because he can't drive the car like a go cart.

Anyone have info on the current ambient/track temperature at Canada? I'm not familiar with a site which has this yet...

Hope it's much cooler than expected!

He doesn't seem to have any more issues than most other drivers really, the China situation was just because they tried to force the strategy and ask too much of the tyres. I don't think style is a problem he's not a particularly ragged driver.

Unlikely to get track temps just yet, unless they mention it on TV coverage (i am watching BTCC atm even though Sky coverage started already).

McLaren won't like that and Red Bull won't like it slighty less and Merc won't like that nor will Renault. Could be a Ferrari day. :irked:

If by Renault you meant Lotus, they've been pretty happy so far in mega temps this season (Bahrain and Spain)...

We'll see though, the most interesting point for me is whether the predicted definite one stop strategy will go out the window due to increase track temp, and how a potential safety car will change things... say we get one on lap 15 what the hell is everyone gonna do then?!?! Switch to a two stopper i expect. I freaking love this race can't wait! :hehe:

Spanky your beef with RedBull is pathetic but coming from an Italian Australian I'd expect nothing less than your view point. What's sad is we have this so called fan wanting parity when his team boasts funding from illegal tobacco sponsorship! But cannot expect less from Italian descendeted w**kers.

Yeah I still call them Renault out of force of habit. Pirelli reckon a 1 stop is possible but there is nearly always a safety car here. It's going to be an interesting race.
