yeah, whether it's his bad luck or his own fault, I would just stay as far outside and out of the way of the pack as possible for the first 4-5 turns if I were him. He'll find this year very short if his retirements keep up i think, whether they're his fault or not!

It's where you keep the engine revving even with the throttle not pressed. The idea is to blow the diffuser even when you are braking.

So they gain a bit extra down-force at the expense of running more fuel, interesting concept. So clever, they must have a massive fuel tank.

I heard about the blown diffuser saga, the penny has just dropped.

Haven't been on here in a while so I must admit I've been rather out of touch

It doesn't really matter if Button said Alonso wasn't a threat, they have to say these sort of things, they give out interviews etc. all the time, doesn't make him a poor driver.

Anyone think the top three qualifiers here are the realistic title contenders? I think they all have the edge on their team mates, and the Lotus and Mercedes isn't really consistently quick enough to make it over the course of the season, whereas it looks like Ferrari will continue to be at the front with Alonso's great start to the season meaning the damage was pretty limited, the Redbull I think will also improve at a strong pace and McLaren will improve and make less mistakes costing them points.

Yes, i do. Although i think Webber has a good shout too, so make that the top 4 for me. And actually, you have Rosberg in 5th too, and with their car consistency increasing at Merc he is definitely in the mix too! Rosberg top scorer over the last 4 races i believe... So, yes, i think the top 3 are the favourites but the top 5 are all realistic challengers for me.

Nope they do not HAVE to say those things, anyone who thinks Alonso is not a threat is an idiot and should keep their mouth shut because in the non starters case it has come back to bite him in the bottom.

This come with believing the groupie media hype.

Based purely on driver skill, I think there is not much between Vettel, Alonso & Hamilton...

Looking at the complete package, mentality, maturity, influence with the team, I think there are probably 5 or 6 possible contenders. Vettel, Alonso, Hamilton, Button, Webber and maybe Rosberg...

Webber's biggest problem is politics, that team is 110% behind Vettel, Webber virtually has to use the Jedi Mind trick to get one up on Vettel.
