So why was Q good? Because there were a lot of cars out on the track (well except for one very unsure of himself) all shooting for their best time.

This Q3 ridiculousness of not going out and giving the fans a show has got to stop, and I'm hoping Monaco is the catalyst for it.

Doubt it'll happen, having seen one team principal's comments on it. Cause i get the impression the teams like to use the not running strategy in Q3 to try and make something back in the race if they don't quite have the raw pace in their cars.

All three sessions were very fun today though, a reason to be on the edge of your seat at the end of each one.

Tell you what, Mark Webber is going to be very hard to beat tomorrow.

I agree, Scotty. So here's the only little issue...number of stops. Mark/Red Bull is having issue with tyre deg and may need more than one stop. Lets see who can limit their stops. Mark may just set a slow pace, manage the tyres and make it a slow race to the finish with a win. Lets see.

I'm just saying...

Yep, but Rosberg has an even bigger problem with deg and generally race pace anyway in my view... so i guess it's all on the start. If Webber doesn't fluff it, he holds all the cards cause he can just match any challenger's stop strategy, and even if he wants to take it easy on the tyres it'd be so hard to pass anyway.

I wonder if we might see this insane situation where everyone tries to one stop for track position :hehe:

And then you have the Lotuses who seemed to have better tyre life AND were probably the all around quickest car on the softs, but are just slightly out of position.

God damn it i love the Monaco GP!!! :cloud9:

:hehe: Nice! It may be a who-blinks-first for that first stop. We know Lewis/McLaren will blink last since they can manage their tyre deg the best of the top three. Plus Lewis doesn't have to push, just stay close and cruise until the advantage swings his way.

Or...Nico could sniff a win and go for everything in the first corner, wadding up his heap with Webber.

I'm just saying...

Maldonado is an unsporting thug and I can't wait for the day he pisses off someone enough to make them deck him good and ruin his dental braces.

He already pissed off officials here a few years ago, but it seems money can buy you into and out of most things.

:D

It's also actually true, I couldn't remember it all but it's on his Wiki:-
"However, his participation in the WSR was marred by a four-race ban for dangerous driving. He failed to slow down at the scene of an accident at Monaco, despite the presence of warning flags, and struck and seriously injured a marshal."

I think he was actually hit with a lifetime ban at Monaco but daddy-bucks came to the rescue and it was reduced to a 4 race ban.

I honestly think Maldonado is an idiot, don't let his 1 race win fool you. He may be fast as well, but he can get very frustrated in that he loses his cool and inflects damage to others.

Pay driver or not, the guy does have skills(I think he has already proven that). He just needs to change his attitude and learn to respect other drivers...

Good qualifying, love Monaco, the glamour and the sheer craziness of it, it's made it's way into the hearts of f1 purists yet its the complete opposite as a track.

Not going to make race predictions though,

Still, P1 for Schumacher, and Massa did better as well (first time he got into q3), the demands of the circuit perhaps suit the under-performing drivers as there's very little option here but to get on with it and follow the circuit?

Kimi struggled quite a lot, he's behind Massa whereas Alonso is behind Grosjean whose shown his talent and pace very well in his second chance in f1.

Ross said he had a tear in his eye, did he have one in China hmm?

It's crazy looking at the contenders for the championship, let alone a race win or pole position, I think we're going to have a very close pack throughout the race.

going to be a good day tomorrow for me (in the US), Monaco GP and the Indy 500. I got to wake up at like 4am to catch Monaco but its not that bad.

I normally sleep from around 5:00 AM to about 1:00 PM EST. F1 races normally air at around 8:00 AM here, so normally I have to record it and watch it when I get up. I have a lot of racing recording this weekend. Of course I'm watching Monaco, I've also got it recording the Indy 500 and even the Coke 600 (though I don't care for Indy all that much and barely do NASCAR), I've got a V8 Supercars race recording and I believe two different Grand-Am races (Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire).

He's gradually gaining a reputation, and if it continues, then it'll bite him hard. He can't keep getting away with it forever. I'm not a fan of Pastor, and although I was happy for him in Spain, I was happier for the Williams team and Sir Frank. Pastor is just not a likeable guy, and he does nothing to change this.
