How about adding a poll to the thread? Ask if Whitmarsh is screwing Hamilton with the answers being a choice of yes or no. If the no's outweigh the yes's then we agree that the matter is settled and the thread gets locked. If the yes's outweigh the no's then the thread stays open. :)

Why can't the thread be closed in either case?

Dammit thought of something else after Iposted, I now have a better solution, could just close this thread now, has anyone actually changed their mind or learnt anything from this one? There's no actual discussion or debate going on, it's like the Eurozone crisis/ Greek government plans.

Stop being sensible Vaptin. You're upsetting the normals. :hehe:

Indeed the discussion is circular in nature.

:yikes: You cant ignore the Euoro crisis!!! And you cant ignore the shinanegans (very hard word to spell!!) at Mclaren, especially when your favourite driver is embroilled in the middle of it.
Anyway thank your lucky stars you have this thread. It keeps the other threads clean....well that was the idea. And it gives you lot something to do on a Friday night :D

If this is closed, the ridiculousness will shuffle into the Lewis V Jenson thread. It'll surely find a way of spreading!

That's a risk I'm willing for you to take.

No thread is too hot for me but I do think it's wise to know when to call time on a discussion that is stagnating. However, as Vaptin opinted out this thread is not going anywhere. No one has changed their opinion since page one and nothing has been established. Run a poll for a week to settle this once and for all is what I says.

No Andrew. If you dont like it keep out of the debate. Others do think it important. Whether anyone has changed their opinion or not (and I have sensed a change since last weekend) is irrelevant, people clearly want to continue discussing it as its one of the most active threads. When, as you suggest, it stagnates, it will automatically fall away like the other threads people tire of.
