HAHA! Doesn't he mean his own lack of pace?

Please. I don't. He kicked the crap out the first few races. He's being upfront and honest about it. He even said in the damn thing you just quoted that even hamiliton was below what the team should have been able to provide for him as well.

Get so f'ing tired of this fan boy hate.

house divided, falling, something like that, mclaren needs to be a team, and needs fans to be as well.

I've been tough on Jens for the past few days and now he's assured me I had proper reason for being so. He's clearly starting to lose the plot. Looking at Lewis' pace he doesn't think the pace is there? Really? A dominant qualifying session and pole by Lewis plus storming through the field from 24th to finish 8th...ahead of Jenson by 7 seconds and Jenson doesn't believe there's pace in the car. No Jenson, you're not extracting the clear pace in the car...or is Lewis that much better than you? Would he have made the same comments if Lewis had started on pole and lapped him? C'mon Jens...you're struggling on the front/rear/low fuel/high fuel all at the same time. Sort out at least one. Afterall, you're the smart one, remember? "Lewis is still learning."

Qualifying isn't race pace. that's why it's not qualifying pace. You take this way to freaking personally, and frankly are naive if you believe jenson is some how sub human compared to lewis, as if he is on another plane of existence.

You want to talk about amazing recoveries, would you like to talk about 2011 canada? Oh bet not not, be cause I'm sure that's jenson's fault to.

You ask any damn F1 driver if they can just ride easy from their rookie year because they are just good at the sport, and not have to learn anything about the next season or the new car, and you bet your bottom they are going to tell you that you are always learning in this sport.

I love lewis as a driver and I want him and Jenson to both succeed, but this constantly berating of button is getting really old. If lewis was so infaliable as you make him to be, we'd see him be a 6 time world champion by now. He too is only as good as his car will allow.

All of the things said in this post are rubbish. Just my two pence.

 So far we four pence.

Jenson Button has said he is more concerned by McLaren's lack of pace at the moment than the errors the team have been making.

Button could only finish ninth in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix, one place and seven seconds behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who had started 14 positions behind him on the grid.

Hamilton was punished for a fuel irregularity in qualifying having earlier claimed pole position at the Circuit de Catalunya, only for his times to be discounted.

It was the latest mistake from McLaren to undermine one of their drivers during a grand prix weekend, with their pit stops also coming under scrutiny.

However, Button admitted he was more concerned by his car's lack of pace in Barcelona. Although quickest in Friday's second practice session, he subsequently struggled with handling issues on his MP4-27.

The 2009 World Champion said: "It was a tough weekend, especially on Sunday.

"The most important thing is to understand why I didn't have any pace over the weekend on low and high fuel.

"Even if qualifying doesn't go well, normally we can get some good points in the race, but I couldn't look after my tyres and I didn't have any pace. It's something that's a concern.

"Yes, Lewis did a fantastic job in qualifying, and the team did well to produce a car like that.

"In the race you can say Lewis again did a good job by finishing eighth, which he should be happy with, but still the pace isn't there.

"It was a worse weekend for me, but if you look at Lewis' pace in the race, I still don't think it's where you would expect us to be.

"My fastest lap of the race was 2.6secs slower than the quickest overall, which is just strange, and I don't understand why that is.

"And it wasn't one end of the car I struggled with, it was both. I've never been in a position like that. It was very extreme."

With Williams' Pastor Maldonado claiming victory, for only the second time in Formula One history five different drivers and five different constructors have won the first five races.

Button is scratching his head at that one, adding: "It's not just us. The Red Bulls did a better job at the weekend than us in terms of points, but still they weren't quick when you compare them to Williams, Sauber, Lotus and Ferrari.

"Five different teams winning five different races, we really don't know what's going on, and I think that's the same up and down the pit lane."

Whats he on about? That smacks of desperation. There was nothing wrong with Lewis's pace, Pole by over half a second, only two pitstops and he'd have won by a country mile if he'd started on pole. Sorry Jens

Scotty, instead of a Lewis/Jenson argument, is it OK if we just pick one driver and argue about him until we pass out? :P Just kidding of course.
#303702
Good point Scotty. I guess this is better on The Spanish GP thread, Conspiracy thread or Jenson V Lewis thread. Its just how some conversations develop.

Hopefully wet. We're due a wet Monaco GP seeing as there hasn't been one for a while.

Keep an eye on this linky-dinky-do-dah for the 5 day forecast.

Maldonado's aiming for another win.

Always a good choice for thread diversion. :)

Wet Monaco = guaranteed EPIC. The prospect of a wet race at Monaco is for me one of the biggest draws of F1.

Cant believe Im at a wedding on that day!! I know some stupid people!

Most marriages fail in their first year don't they? I wouldn't bother going and watch the race instead. :hehe:
