As of Monaco, McLaren need to get their car to the finish in the position it DESERVES to be in. Which, at the moment, is still first.

Deserve??? How do you figure this one? Ludicrous! The pit team is sh!te, so they don't 'deserve' first.

Do you wanna take this outside DD?

Now that we're done with the foreplay, let's get to having :smileysex:

Correction: "As of Monaco, Mclaren need to get their cars (preferably Lewis) in the position I WANT to see em finish. Otherwise, I will throw a hissy fit and complain about a conspiracy."

so basically... how can you say they deserve 1st over the teams who are doing a... better job and possibly have a better car & better drivers?????

Lewis is 8pts from P1. In the current 25-pt per win scenario..... all that matters is that Mclaren stay in the game and not get clustered. Lewis made the best possible out of his last place start. Things like this is what keeps the championships open when there's no definite best car, not even the MP24 which you claim it to be.

Maybe he means start from the front row when you qualify there... And it's the MP4-27 we arent in 2009. :hehe:

haha I meant MP4 :) I dont know where that 2 came in from :hehe:

As for the starting position, I dont know why the rules take them all out of Q... I would have thought they would just void their Q3 times... which would have sent Lewis to 10. That would have been the "fairest" to everyone. Not starting on P1. Starting last was definitely harsh. But its the first time its happened under the "get to the pit by your own power" so I guess now we know what the penalty is

McLaren simply are not ready for 2012 as a top tier team.

I share your frustration, but then, which team is "ready" for 2012, if McLaren is not? No one is having any sort of consistency...

Lotus is getting consistently better. They'll get a win soon at this rate.

A breach of the technical regulations means exclusion from the event, which is defined as qualifying not broken down into q1, q2 and q3. If a car was found to have been illegal by another technical regulation, and in the absence of force majure the same penalty applies. It's the same principle that applied to Sauber in Australia 2010.

It's only gearboxes and engines that have specific penalties for replacing them.

It's not the same as Sauber having a wing a certain amount of mm outside the technical regulations.
The car was legal it just didn't return to the pits under its own power which is more a sporting regulation.

[quoteArticle 6.6.2 of the technical regulations: "Competitors must ensure that a one litre sample of fuel may be taken from the car at any time during the event.

"Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a sample of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been driven back to the pits under its own power."][/quote]

Their using the stipulation as a subsection to being required to give a fuel sample.

Qualifying is also classed as a practice session from the looks of it, which is the basic reasoning why they can run out at the end of the race.

I know it comes under the technical regs but it's not like it's a defect in manufacture, not putting enough fuel in doesn't make the cars structure illegal like Saubers wings were.

It's interesting about the race though as the cars need to pass scrutineering still, the car needs to meet weight requirements, fuel needs to be checked, lengths of the car parts to the mm also.

So the car not needing to return after the race is odd to me.
