Perhaps Allstate will announce they're becoming a sponsor for McLaren, just in time for Austin. I love these ads, good marketing. :hehe:

I was stoked to see hamiliton on pole, but I'm not broken up over his penalty. He went out twice in Q3, if he would have pulled off that lap the first time, we would not be having this conversation. One might even be bold to say that nice .5 off the time was because of his extreme lightness due to fuel.

Eitherway, his fault. Totally his damn fault and I am sure he is in his room thinking about how he could have went faster then first time.

Playing catch up in Q3 looks heroic, but is also very risky as you usually get no other chances after that.

With all that said, back of the grid, is a bit much. 10th with a fine to the team would have been better.

Killem how can you say this is Lewis' fault? McLaren have screwed up again and Lewis takes the rap. Perhaps if Whitmarsh hadnt lied the stewards may have taken a more lenient view of it.
His first run was on used tyres and he was fastest. On new tyres he was again fastest by more than the difference the fuel would have made. The fairest penalty would be to fine Mclaren, failing that to erase the time he set on low fueland let his first time stand . Lewis actually did nothing wrong.

I agree, there have been poor strategies, faulty gear box, 3 in one race pitstop screwups, but this one is the one that could loose Lewis the championship. 25points could go begging here. Ok bad things happen, but not this many!!

If nothing, McLaren are consistent. Five races and six cockups.

Giving a F1 team a fine is hilarious, they'd take a fine anyday of the week. They only understand if they're given a performance based penalty.

Yeah. :hehe: Like the fine they gave Ferrari for having Massa let Alonso by.

It is applied consistently, Buemi copped the same penalty last year so what's with the complaining?

Which race was that?

I'm a mclaren fan and I'm really bummed bacause of what happened to lewis but rules are rules. I just wish the stewards would enforce the rules more consistently....

The rule was brought in after Lewis did this in Canada 2010, If they are going to do it for Qualifying what irks me is they don't do it for the race. Drivers aren't required to get back to the pits under their own power there we saw Vettel at Barhain stop without doing this to save fuel for scrutineering.

Lets try laughing first. If the crying starts this early in the season, by the time we get to the 15th to 18th race of the season, one of us may be standing out on a ledge with a crowd gathered down on the street while some cop with donut crumbs stuck in his cheezy mustache try to talk you down from a nearby window.

Seriously, can Ron Dennis come back? Wish he came back to the post and tapped Whitmarsh aside with a "Step aside, son."

Hamilton is gonna be tearing up the grid like a bat out of hell. He's either going to get points tomorrow or take himself and somebody else out during an aggressive passing move because he doesn't have time to bull :censored: with midfielders
