scr@w em all... I am not going to watch the race tomorrow... I can't accept more :bs::censored::censored::censored:

Almost the same sentiment here. Really, what a sock in the midsection for Lewis after doing everything right.

Thats it for me. After Lewis was stripped of his Belgium GP win i considered stopping watching F1, and now this! Am sorry but this is 1 too many times. Be it unfair application of rules or a McLaren c0ckup F1 has become a farce. If i was Hamilton i would be seriously considering my future in F1, or at McLaren. The tyre regs hamper him and his team seem to make too many mistakes, and his skills as an overtaker have been nullified by DRS and KERS.
F1 has died for me today, am not a fan of bikes but Moto GP looks a better series to watch!

On the radio, Lewis' engineer said there was a problem and to stop the car, team principle Martin Whitmarsh echoed those comments about 15 minutes after the session, the team were fully aware that fuel was critical, you can call it brinkmanship if you like, but McLaren elected to not divulge that Hamilton's McLaren ran out of fuel, there is no possible way they couldn't know!

I see your point. Also, the team would have known from the warm up lap how much fuel was in the car. They must have known that they were short and would have had the option to run their car on a "lean" fuel saving mode. That wouldn't have gotten them anywhere near pole, let alone the only driver in the 1:21s. But at least they would have stayed within the rules. So, it seems that McLaren did make a conscious decision to break this rule. Maybe that's why the stewards came down so hard.

It's plain and simple. Lewis was on a 3 lap run. Out-lap, fast lap and in-lap. You put enough fuel in the car for all 3 laps with enough fuel left in the tank to show to the stewards at the end. McLaren have millions of pounds worth of technology and some (we thought) extraordinary bright people in the team so working this out should've been routine, like in all of the other quali sessions they've done.

With Webber in 12th, Button in 11th, Vettel in 8th and only Maldonado between him and third place, Lewis was pretty much on for his first race win of this season and a sizeable lead in the Driver's World Championship. Now he'll have neither. How he can recover from this and all of his other mishaps with the team this year and last will be a testament to what a great person and driver he is. If he can recover from this...

Greetings,first post..

Weather the team done it on purpose or not,one thing is clear,Lewis knew nothing about it.When he was asked to stop the car you can clearly hear him saying "is it a serious problem" that alone tell anyone who is in any doubt that Lewis knew nothing.

Its not impossible to make up some serious places from the start, even if he gains a few points he can still come away being 4th in the WDC.If their is a crash at the start and he can avoid it then he can still soften the blow.I can see Lewis at Mercedes next year and them having built a race winning car for him to drive,Norbert loves Lewis and knows that he is the man to help them win the WDC.

F1 is supposed to cater to the fans but it's supremely annoying that we, as fans can do nothing about this. Many fans (not just of McLaren) have been let down today and it feels like Formula 1 doesn't realise, nor care.

No wonder so many people despise this sport. I love it but it's really difficult to love a sport that can be this atrocious.

Forzaaaaaaaaa :)

The only bad thing for Alonso is being near Maldonado. A bit iffy ;) hehe so i guess anything can happen...... Other than that, great result, almost like that Qtime on fumes while in Renault

He'll do this and McLaren will win the title that year.

Sods law is that the season Lewis moves away from McLaren is the season they win the title. It's what is bound to happen in the world of Lewis Hamilton.

That's why I was using the term "the team" when discussing this. It's clearly a team SNAFU, and as you point out, not a LH one.

Fernando is a thinking and crafty driver. He's got to be in with a chance. Though while the Ferrari has improved, it's not the fastest car out there, and it is a long race.

Never say never my friend,if he does win it will be Lewis's grit and determination that wins the WDC not anything this pathetic team have done for him

Come on,even as a non Mclaren fan and someone who loves the sport, you must see that this judgement is OTT.Think about it,they have placed him behind a car that didn't even make the qualifying rules,Mr Karthikeyan in the HRT.

How the hell can that be fair.

About as fair as violating the written rules...

Penalise the team then, not Hamilton. He didnt put the fuel in the car. He drove balls out to get a perfect lap and put it on pole half a second ahead of the next guy, all for nothing.
