It's a stupid test.

The Veyron was in the dry, the F1 car was in the wet. So the test is useless.

[rant]The Veyron SS is one of the silliest cars ever made. All Bugatti wanted to was reclaim the crown of fastest road car again. The SS should've been super-light but instead it still had most of the luxuries of the original Veyron. Their last hurrah was the SS and it could've been a lot greater than it was. Sure, it's quick in a straight line but round a track it's only a second per lap quicker than a £70,000 2012 Nissan GT-R. And the SS costs £1.2 million.[/rant]

Jeremy Clarkson did it about 20 years ago.
He said - this is the difference between a really really really fast car, and a formula one car. The road car was a heavily modded tuner fave, like a Lancer Evo or a Suby or Skyline or some such, I forget, and it was about as quick as you're gonna get, outfitted to kill everything at the drag strip, and still the F1 car completely embarrassed it. I mean left it like it was standing still. I think it was a Jordan.

Obviously it'd be insane to pass up an opportunity like that. But put it this way, there's a hell of a lot of other cars i'd rather drive over a Veyron.

If you bought the legendary Bugatti name wouldn't you try to capitalize on it by cobbling together some crate with wheels and slapping the badge on it? Doesn't have to be the best at anything, it makes a profit and that's all that matters.

Didn't it make a massive loss ?.But they done it to see how quick they could make it go ,or something along those lines.
