I hope that won't happen. It all started with quarrels between Ecclestone and Brawn.

But also:

The Times quoted Ecclestone as saying: "Why should Mercedes have the same deal as the others? What have they have they done in Formula One? They won a race and that is it."

What do you think is going to happen?

Why shouldnt mercedes have the same deal? I dont blame Brawn for standing up to Ecclestone, in fact I applaud him.

All manufacturers (with the exception of Ferrari) leave the sport when it no longer suits their agenda... but I believe all teams should have the same deal, whether they are HRT or McLaren, maybe if that was the case the bottom three teams could actually mount a decent challenge for the points. If Mercedes do leave, it'll be no great loss, I'm sure Rosberg will be snapped up!

Why not use the same "yardstick" they currently use... I mean the teams get paid by the WCC standing, but the F1 profit sharing is interestingly spread out over the percentage of time of on screen time their cars receive which I thought was fair.

That's why during Bahrain, the absence of Force India from the television screens will ultimately cost them a pretty penny.

If a team is popular, or if a team id on a streak and doing well, why shouldn't they reap those rewards.

But its not fair if Bernie doesnt let you get on TV because for some reason he doesnt like you or what you do. Like Force India missed a practice because they were concerned for their team menmbers so bernie made them pay by not giving them any airtime in quali. Thats vindictive and not fair. Thats if Ive got that right

Erm... also been an incredibly successful engine supplier for ages now, and have history dating back to F1's early days... but i expect Bernie is clever enough to know that. This is all just media hype and various factions using the media to make a point in my view..

A large amount of the Daimler board has openly been against the F1 team since it's inception, even recently it was brought up by one member at a general meeting to a round of applause.

Are you f***ing kidding me? What has MERCEDES done for f1?

His age is getting to him. He seems to have forgotten the silver arrows to the engine supplier years.

The fact that the name Silver Arrows is, in itself, somewhat legendary, is a very telling fact.

I think Mercedes are realising that running a complete team is not as good for glory hunting and terrible compared to the bang per buck that just providing engines for top teams is. Just ask Renault.

I also think that Mercedes have fallen into the same trap that Ford/Jaguar, plus I suppose Honda and Toyota to a certain extent did.

Multi national companies infastructor is nowhere near what is needed to run an F1 team. Look how the Stewart team quickly got muzzled when Ford took over. Now compare the Brawn/Mercedes take over.

My thoughts exactly. Unless you're Ferrari, a manufacturer's future in F1 has no chance of being certain.
