I dont think mugello has changed the pecking order.

The pecking order is as yet undetermined which is what makes the season exciting!

I think McLaren probably had the best car on balance so far, closely followed by Red Bull. So perhaps bud is hoping as well as expecting no changes :P

For sure you can't say the order has changed, but, I feel that Ferrari and Lotus have made significant progress and Red Bull has made progress. The rest have made either none or very small progress. We will only see if those changes are enough to change the pecking order over the next 3 races.

McLaren still feel they have the best car.

All they did were aero runs and tyre tests to try to improve their deg problems. Also, they put in some pit stop practice with the new left-rear mechanic.

Optimism can fall short but they're apparently bringing upgrades to Barca so hope is on the horizon yet.

The teams felt this test was a waste of time anyway, so most probably all the productive work was done back in the factories and wind tunnels. For all we know, McLaren have probably made the most progress by not even showing up...

All depends on the updates all teams bring which will help the car, it's anyone's game.

I think in the story I posted some of the teams said the test should have been a week before Barcelona as that track not only has better representations of the calendar but also would have saved money for the teams in going to one location for both preseason test and GP.

As for McLaren they did do a bit of aero work, and seeing as these guys are the ones in the simulator a lot it is not a bad idea to get them in the car to correlate real data with the simulator work they do.

I think that ferrari has much more knowledge of the track so no doubt had the perfect setup right from the off. which would make them look better.

Mclaren run there 3rd and 4th drivers, if they where as fast as drivers 1 and 2 then they would be in F1 so that is going to affect the out come.

plus without HRT we will never know how much of an improvement they have made

HRT 1-2 in Barca! You heard it here first! Other teams better watch out! Who knows what they've been adding to the car back at the factory; double, double DRS maybe? :hehe:

They'll go round the first lap then hide on the last corner until the final lap to emerge ahead of everyone else. :hehe:

to be fair, if I knew there was job security I would work for HRT, because I bet you would feel as if you made a difference. where as if you worked for the big teams you would be a small part of a big machine. With HRT I get the feeling it is more of an enthusiasts 1960's style of team which I kinda like

There wouldn't be job security in the sense of keeping your job. HRT probably don't have the best financial situation on the grid...
