Got laid off. They're closing my facility down!! Last day is July 6th. Meh.

There were rumors for the last several weeks. Everybody outside our department was sh*ttin their pants. I didn't think it was gonna happen though cuz A) this facility was built 3 years ago and B) my luck usually isn't this good. I'm kinda viewing it as a positive thing really because I wanted to get off these graveyard shifts now that my bills from the divorce are paid off. the differential was 12% so I was making a few extra dollars an hour on this shift. I'd like a social life again tho. Not that I had much of one in the first place my wife was my social life, but yeah, we know how that turned out!! it.

Anyway, at least we have 2 months notice and I'll be getting another month's pay after my termination date. So i really have til about august 6th to get a new job. I'm not too worried I'm testing with a police department in 2 days so hopefully that yields results between now and august!! Not holding my breath though...the departments usually go for these dudes fresh out of the military, and they're coming back to the states in droves now.

Arrived safely in Arlington; about 5 1/2 hours on the road, I let my wife do the DFW driving, I don't have the patience to sit in rush hour traffic!

What's the background of this, for some reason I can't get out of my head some strange sort of nottingham voodoo thing going on.

Im not averse to a little magic,I've got a real magic wand; but this was just making stickmen. There's a children's book called stickman, its really good. We read it, then the children made their own stickmen to take home. They had to find sticks the right shape and size and in proportion, so a bit of maths going on there.
