Diving and faking injuries is part of Soccer. Love it or hate it, it's part of the sport. :)

Seriously, thats how you justify how rife diving is in football (especially in Europe), but claiming its 'part of the sport'. Do give over.

The sooner it can be accepted, the sooner the "sport" can be enjoyed. :)

What's with all the football bashing? It's just that it's so popular in the UK you can attribute widespread social behaviour to it, but football itself is just a team sport.

Surely the dive in football is analogous to team orders in F1?

Pisses me off all that diving, i like the game but coming from an Australian Rules Football background it just looks pathetic!

Look at how our leagues championship was decided

As a Perth person, all I can say about that is, he deserves everything he'll get from the shed if ever he's brave enough to venture over to WA.

Unfortunately, diving is now part of the sport. I've seen footage of Barcelona's training ground where everyone actually has a training session where they all DIVE and ACT.

It's down to the refs to get it right IMO. No matter how tough, and to improve their efficiency, why not have 2 refs per match? Each ref is responsible for his own half of the pitch, that way visibility is no longer much of an excuse. Of course, consistency will be an issue but it'd discourage divers to perform their act so blatantly and often.

The thing soccer needs more than anything is goal line technology and the use of replays to decide on a crucial decision. Like American Football has.

Why it's not in the sport of soccer astounds me beyond belief.

Also, is this a thread about soccer or the fact that Sauber now have the name of the greatest soccer team on the Planet on the side of their car?

What, that team who blow immense amounts of money and yet probably won't even make the CL this season?

Nope, the team who are unbeaten against Barcelona, and also beat Barca to get to the Champions League final. Also the team who are in the FA Cup final. All this with the "Caretaker" manager! 8-)
