I can't think if anything worse. Football is a vile sport, and I don't see how F1 would benefit from it.

I honestly don't think F1 will benefit from gaining a typical football fan. I know this sounds a bit snobbish, but it's how I feel.

Yes at the level we are talking about, football would be hard pressed to match drivers deliberatley crashing their cars to help a team mate, or teams using parts later deemed illegal, or giving one team secret funding and help, or its leaders engaged in S&M orgies with prostitutes (admttedley not a Nazi orgy)
Football might be able to match a player convicted of glassing another in a bar, or jailed for attacking a taxi driver, how about allegations of drink driving convictions the night after a race?
Not sure football can match a player that threatened to ruin the whole livelihood of a holiday island as a punishment for reporters daring to take pictures

Oh Football might find it very hard to match allegations of seriously convoluted corporate structures and governance of its ownership and charges brought by countries like Germany against its owners for allegedly acting illegally when dealing with stakeholders.

Nah Football would feel like an amateur in the altruistic and noble sport that is F1.

Hate Chelsea, but happy for Sauber I think it could benefit them greatly! Let's face it, these guys need any and all exposure they can get and there is a lot of potential from this tie up.

It might start a new trend of sponsorship. Or it may die off with Sauber....hard to tell at this stage.

Dislike Chelsea with a vengeance but if it helps Sauber out financially and pushes the team forward, I'm all for it!

It is indeed a sport played by idiots, for idiots. There I said it! Why can't they just decide who's best and leave it at that or give them a ball each? I can't see what F1 as a whole would gain from this. F1 is already extremely well known in the UK and even the most drunken, violent and hate filled soccer casual will know of its existence.

The only good point I can think of is that it'll give Sauber a good lump of cash.

Provided that Chelsea sells some Sauber merchandise. From the looks of it, this is simply a partnership, not a sponsorship deal where cash changes hands directly.
