I think this is where the upgrades will shine. Who will have the best upgrades? Will the other teams have bolted-on Mercedes' double-DRS system by Barcelona? Will the other teams have crucially discovered Red Bull's filled-in hole in their rear floor?

Hopefully McLaren will have no faulty equipment.

Expecting a step forward from Ferrari once they fix their botch job exhaust system with the coming update.

I'm not going to set myself up for disappointment by hoping something so improbable. I believe the tally is something like five horrible pit stops for Hamilton, one crummy stop for Button, a gearbox penalty for Hamilton, and a DNF for Button, and that's in four races.

One thing to note though,

Shanghai (HP track)- 3 Mercedes powered cars on podium

Bahrain (Traction track) - 3 Renault powered cars on the podium

This might be a good gauge for future races, as for Barcelona I think the Mercedes powered cars will be back in contention. But all depends on the various upgrades of course. Ferrari should gain the most as they have the most to gain!

I do hope Mclaren can take back the lead in overall performance, but that showing in Bahrain was just embarassing. Really hope its a 1 off. :(

I still feel the Merc win in China was an outlier. Clearly they're trending on the way up, but I still don't see them as a regular winner. But they win once (in cold conditions) and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. I don't get it.

Just look at Schumacher's comments about Pirelli today. They're obviously still having issues managing them.

No one's jumping on their bandwagon here. I mentioned Mercedes powered cars, clearly pointing at McLaren.

Unless your post is directed towards someone else.

Im going to predict this
Mclaren- Lewis qualifies on the front row, Jenson about 3 places back. At the first pitstop Jenson moves ahead of Lewis. Lewis then looses 20+sec through the rest of the race due to any of the following (stuck wheel nuts, under fuelling, wrong set up, slow puncture, lost gears, stewards, chicken up in the pitlane, sent out on wrong tyres, incorrect information given to him, no information given to him, add any more here that I've missed)
FerrariBig leap forward
MercedesImproved the operating window for their tyres, Schumi's bad luck stops and they're right in contention
Lotus Right up there fighting the red Bulls
Red Bull Consolidate their move forward and remain a frontrunner
Williams Hovering around the Q3 area for quali and sneaking in the top ten if misfortune befalls the cars ahead.

No, just a general statement, really. Your post put my mind on the Merc train-of-thought.
