Alonso responded to the decision via Twitter: "I think you are going to have fun in future races! You can defend position as you want and you can overtake outside the track! Enjoy! ;)))"

Time to start following this joker on Twitter I think.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

But in fairness he is correct. Wasn't a rule added after Schumacher pushed Lewis off at Monza last year saying you can't "crowd" a driver off the track and you have to leave a car's width when moving across the track. Rosberg was guilty, but as soon as Hamilton, Alonso, Schumacher etc do it, they will get a penalty.

Rosberg's reputation has saved him here. Hamilton was lucky that he didnt clip that wall, otherwise that would have been nasty!

Johnny Herbert should be a permanent steward, rather than Pirro, who didnt even qualify for half the races and was never quick enough to be involved in any important battles. But then if Johnny was a steward every race we would lose his expert opinions on Sky, as I think he is a great pundit :)

What was that about I should stop complaining about McLaren's pit stops? THREE races IN A ROW that mistakes in the pits have cost their drivers dearly.
Yes, other teams have had problems but nothing on the level of McLaren. They just simply don't learn from thier mistakes. Mclaren - head down to the wheel nut shop and buy some new ones. Let's not do what others have done on this forum and sugar-coat it - it's none other than disgraceful. Hamilton lost around 17 seconds.
One cannot discard McLaren's poor wheel nuts and problems in the pits ruining their races. It's not fair on the drivers who drive their heart out and then get screwed by the team that's supposed to help them, not hinder them. It's nothing to do with pressure, just poor equipment. Even HRT has better wheel nuts than McLaren it seems!

Also - the Sky F1 commentators were not on their usual standard in this race. They kept getting drivers' names wrong and positions of cars wrong. It's easy to tell a driver from either watching a TV screen where you can see the drivers' helmets and car numbers and also via the driver tracker. They seem to have forgotten to have a few cups of coffee before the race.
Damon Hill is again useless on the mic. Johnny Herbert was probably busy for this race but more Johnny and less Damon, please!

Well done to Seb. Good to see 4 different races where 4 different drivers from 4 different teams win a race! Hopefully Seb winning from pole won't continue. Not because I don't like him or Red Bull but because it would ruin what has been a superb start to the season and is not good for the sport. No more Red Bull dominance; the majority of fans simply do not want to see it happen again.
Well done to Paul di Resta! Well up in the points!! :D
Hard luck for Jenson. Lots of debris on the circuit to cause his puncture and just simply more hard luck regarding his engine.
Also hard luck for Williams.

The upgrade-race will determine the season, just like many have said. With brand-new cars, McLaren were the fastest but as others have upgraded their cars, McLaren has been caught and passed; notably by Red Bull and their blocking of the hole in the rear floor of their car. Other teams will have to find out exactly what they've done by Barcelona. Maybe some teams will even employ Mercedes' double-DRS system by Barcelona. Hopefully the season stays tight.

Again well done to Vettel and Red Bull. It's looking mighty-tight in the championships with new leaders in both, which I predicted early on. Also, well done to Lotus and Kimi and Romain! They finally and spectacularly show their true colours! :D

No problems from protests or the like during the race, just like I thought. The FIA did as well as I'd expected with their superb security measures.

I hope my post is not taken the wrong way. :)

Ah - stop whining! Remember MS last time around? He had to retire b/c they didn't secure his front right wheel at the last pit stop. At least LH could continue and get some points out of it.

Which McLaren did to Button at Silverstone. :banghead:

I have every right to complain, thank you.

Best Bahrain GP ever?
was a good race... the controversy is over... so hopefully F1 gets their politics sorted and whatnot........

Great drive by Kimi and Renault.
And Ha Vettel got his pole to flag he needed to cheer him up ;):)
Very good job by Diresta and Force india.

Nico should have gotten a penalty for his block on Lewis. Which he repeated on Alonso... but the repeat was ok cause he didnt get hit the 1st time, so he simply went on doing the same. For comparison... Massa did it right on Lewis, left a car's width (more or less).

What a crazy season. Should be exciting.

Poor Mclaren.... but great for the championship :hehe::twisted:

Johnny was tucked up safe in the Studio in the UK....

Saw that after I posted, mate. :)

I noticed that they left Ant and Georgie back home as well. For obvious reasons...

Is it possible that McLaren's weight distribution, especially on this track, caused the problems with the wheel nuts?

I think there might be some sort of batch manufacturing issue there.

Great race from Seb and Lotus would love Kimi to have won. The main talking point though was what Schumi said about the tyres; I quote "I just question whether the tyres should play such a big importance, or whether they should last a bit longer - and that you can drive at normal racing car speed and not cruise around like we have a safety car."

I have to say I agree with him. Maybe this topic requires a thread of it's own but I want to see racers racing not managers managing. What do we watch F1 for? If it's to see the best go hammer and tongs, then the tyre situation where cars are forced to stop after 8 laps or lose heaps of time, has to be improved. I can see the point of having some portion of a drivers performance governed by race management, but the utter dominance of one style of racing is I suggest to the detriment of our sport.

You say this, but the quality of racing this year has been very good, don't you think? We've enjoyed four really exciting races so far this year.
