Well yes, but if they both complained of tyres (which is what the commentators said.) Lewis should have had priority because he was lying 2nd and Jenson was about 6th. I just cant understand why they do what they do :confused:

The radio transmissions are delayed and not necessarily broadcast in the correct order. The commentators hear them at the same time as the viewer at home. For all you know Button asked first so was pitted first - seems logical.

Maybe it's to do with getting drivers ahead of who they are directly fighting? But I know you think it's a deliberate act to hamper Lewis.

Right rear issues on both cars in two races now, suggests there is something mechanical causing the wheel nut struggles.

One school of thought is that it's down to McLaren have aluminium wheel nuts and titanium shafts. If the nut doesn't go on straight it'll strip the thread on the wheel nut but you'd think if this was the case it would be affecting the other wheels or maybe it's a wheel fitter whose nerves are getting the better of him?

I dont think its to deliberately hamper Lewis, I think its to help Jenson. The hampering of Lewis is an unfortunate side effect.
Wheel nuts definately need looking at.
Mclaren were leading both championships before this race, now their leading neither :(

Probably one of the most pathetic races from McLaren in over 2 years. And they kept boasting about their race performances, yeah right, 4th best team today!

Think the track temps being 10 degrees cooler played a big part in that. 32c when Saturday's qualifying was 42c.

But take away the time Lewis lost in the pits he probably would only have been 5th behind Webber.

It wasnt aligned properly in the first. Cross threaded in second and in the third, with a different mechanic on, it was still twice as long as it should have been. Not a good display in front of Ron and the Bahrainy bosses.

Wish Ron Dennis comes back and tells Martin to watch and learn all over again.

Pretty shocking performance by McLaren today
Wheel nuts: could have been that the wheel guy overtorqued during the first stop and thus, ruined the thread...

Possibly, but I would have thought the Mclaren pit crew would have inspected the condition of the equipment in between stops? Even if they hadn't, vital mistakes from pit stops have cost them important points. Not just today but in China too.

Anyway, a very poor showing from Mclaren. Even without the mistakes and technical errors, the pace of the car just wasn't there. Neither Hamilton nor Button was able to manage the rear tyres properly, and it finished with a final blow for Button; a puncture and an exhaust problem ruined his race.

Not a great weekend, but they've got 3 weeks to progress and become stronger for the next race.

You know this how? Source?

His job was at threat around Silverstone last year, wheel comimg off, under fuelling etc, but then it seemed to die down. I would imagine it wont remain secure if this continues.

Whitmarsh said it after the race in an interview on Sky.
