Bernie can try and talk them out of something but he can't force them to comply. They are already honouring their contract, and can do what the hell pleases them in the name of safety. The old gnome can go to hell.

Human beings with power aren't nice, the vast majority of ordinary people are. Seeing as we outnumber them by a very large margin then it is our responsibility to make our voices heard...

Thing is, the ones whose voices are heard loudest generally becomes the next 'not nice' ones in power. And im not convinced the vast majority are that nice anyway. Lets say we have it in us to be evil. Put our right. The power crazed are are in a class on their own.

Back to Bernie. I doubt he even cares if anyone gets hurt, so long as his lawyers can absolve him of all responsibility ...and he gets his money of course.

No one has forced any of the teams to attend. They all said they were happy to go when they could have easily have boycotted the race.

They agreed to go openly but privately expressed their fears about it to Jean Todt and the FIA. They have to play Bernie's game. Like Bernie is now tyring to get Force India to play his game. Bad things happen if you dont play.

They would have a perfectly legitimate reason for not going and there is nothing that MrE could do. The political situation and the protests are not the fault of the FiA, MrE or the teams - it's down to the Bahraini government. MrE's beef would be with the governemt for causing this situation but I find it a bit silly a team being all brave in the public media, yet behind closed doors their briking it. Perhaps if the teams were a bit more honest then they wouldn't be sitting in Bahrain right now.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, I'd think there will be penalties for failing to compete and Bernie will have all the right people declaring it's safe so that the teams own fears won't count as legitimate reason.

Do you not think there are legitimate reasons for non-attendance? I'm sure they could easily claim force-majuer. I think that given the dangers are there for everyone to see, no one is going to Bahrain not fully understanding the risks.

They have a contract to fulfil which is to PARTICIPATE IN ALL RACES in the calendar. It's in black and white.

And plus, if they do force a strike, Bernie is not going to let it slide. The teams have gone most probably due to obligation, and it was the duty of the ORGANIZER to cancel this race as the whole situation is just going to damage the sport.

Im sure I read somewhere, but cant remember where so cant quote, that there is no force-majuer clause in the contract, so they cant legally pull out stating that as the reason. (but as always, I could be wrong)

I do kind of agree with you. If the teams all didnt want to go, they should of all manned up, and not gone. Taken a vote as FOTA and not gone. That way, HRT could still go and actually score a point or two!!! :hehe:

I can see MrE punishing 1 or 2 teams but it would be madness to punish them all. As you say if they had all stood together as one and said not on your nellie I'm sure that we wouldn't be discussing the Bahrain GP.

No, we'd be discussing Bernie screwing everything he could out of the teams in accordance with their contracts.

Screwing every team would be a monumentally stupid move and would not benefit anyone. His beef should be with the Bahraini government for creating the situation that prohibited the race from going ahead.

Is this the same government that owns the track and pays BE his huge hosting fee ?
