Nice summary, but disagree with the last line. Shanghai was the 'perfect' race for Mercedes, very cold weather for the race and a long back straight to help them dominate qualifying.

Bahrain is going to be hot. Rosberg tip toed his way to victory today, you could see how tense the team were even though he was over 20 seconds ahead of 2nd place.

I think we will see Merc lockout the front row, but the McLarens should have them in control come the race. With the usual jokers in the pack mixing it up like the Redbulls/Lotus'/Saubers/Whoever Else. :hehe:

I wouldn't say that's a given

Thats what happened though due to Hamilton changing his tranny.

Wow the last 10 laps must have been the best racing ever in China...

Ah well gotta feel good for Nico, he's had this one a long time coming but its finally happened for Merc. Norbert and Ross were pretty happy....

As for the rest.. ah well, really good race. The Mclarens did a very good job, Lewis did a very good race to claim a podium after getting stuck sometime after pits...

Alonso looked like he was going to be able to finish higher, but to fight the Sauber and Williams near the end means the Ferrari is still more or less at their level... actually... worse.

But yeah... cool race. Webber gave a cool show, Lewis, the Saubers and Kimi, Williams... and of course Nico was perfect.

:drink:

Purely tyres. I think he spent around 25 laps on those, same as Vettel. Well, this shows the RB takes care of its tyres a lot better than the Lotus, Vettel could still fight.

You mean Vettel does it better than Raikkonen? No need to write it as a team matter when it isn't.

Yeah, considering Webber ate up his first set of hard tires early...

Was that mist or smog blocking the sun?

Beijing is always covered in smog :D

It's a gorgeous backdrop :P

Just a shame you can't see it most of the time :hehe: I wonder if they limit the amount of cars allowed into the city on the week building up to the GP, so you can see a bit of it.like they did for the olympics

Both points are speculation. Though it does make me chuckle how defensive you are over Vettel :hehe:

Indeed. I don't care who managed the tyres better, the car or the driver...fact is the Redbull held up better than the Lotus. Geez.

Tires or not, I have to say the Raikkonen, Vettel, Webber, Hamilton tussle at the end was fantastic racing. Made my decision to get up at 2:30 AM worth while.

Excellent Race. Well Done Nico. Shame for Schumi.

There is some duff opinions on these boards though.

Lewis hampered by team - the track was so busy today, there were very little 'gaps' to bring people out into.

Hamilton weaving as usual - oh ffs - its called breaking the tow...

Vettel hard done by because of fragile tyres - he is hard done by the fact he now has a less than perfect car, so had to gamble on a 2-stop race. You cant start moaning about the tyres, just cos your man cant handle them...

Mercedes turned a corner - dont think so - just prefect storm for them - next weekend will be VERY different.

When Schumi retired the car, I think Brundle said. "I haven't been more dissappointed since Shrek 2", Got a laugh out of me :hehe:

That did make me chuckle too - I do enjoy the commentary from Brundle. Also, as much as I dislike Herberts personality on TV, brundle and him seem to get on very weel - and they had some good banter over a Magnum - and this is something Sky had been missing so far - so maybe he should replace Hill. Herbert could be the Jordan of Sky.
