And finally, we enjoyed some massively exciting racing towards the second half of the race! This is why I've always enjoyed DRS, this is why I've always supported Pirelli and their tyres. The race, once again, benefited from these things.

Unfortunately most of it was totaly false. For example, Raikkonen and Vettel both drove fantastic races and deserved a strong finish but both were robbed thanks to these joke tyres. No driver deserves a kick in the cajones like that after driving out of their skin for 40 or 50 laps.

The race wouldn't have been half as good without DRS and Pirelli today. Raikkonen and Vettel slid back, but no-one else did... they should've worked their strategies out better. If everyone else can do it, so can they.

It's called a failed strategy genius. At least for Kimi.

If Vettel made a 3 stopper, he would never have come up to 2nd place and you won't get tricked into thinking he was 'robbed' of anything.

I don't like these crappy tyres either, but they have made races very unpredictable which leads to excitement. All drivers are dealing with the same sh*t here.

DRS and fragile tryes just paper over the cracks.

Better the cracks are papered over, rather than showing.

But it was a gamble they took. They knew it might happen. If the tyres didn't go off so quick the others would of pitted one time less aswell.
The exact same thing happened here last year, with the drivers that two stopped.Yes Vettel was a sitting duck at the end ,but from where he was ,5th was still a great result.

Maybe Red Bull is favoring Webber? :hehe:

Nah, they favour Button as well. :hehe:

That was unexpected, really competitive apart from Rosberg.

Great stuff, love how the tyres are now really on the edge as far as strategy is concerned. F1 should be challenging shouldn't it? Hope they sort out the marbles though, no need to punish drivers for moving offline.

Sauber really messed up their strategy, but so much was happening I'm not even sure how long Kimi had spent on those tyres. Was it tyres or a reliability issue?

Purely tyres. I think he spent around 25 laps on those, same as Vettel. Well, this shows the RB takes care of its tyres a lot better than the Lotus, Vettel could still fight.

Gutted about how the race turned out for Raikkonen and the Saubers, but it happens. I think Lotus were trying to keep Raikkonen in track position, or perhaps this is just a sign of Raikkonen's inexperience on the Pirelli's not accounting for them going completely off a cliff, who knows. Pure pace is encouraging though so hopefully podiums are still on the cards.

Really enjoyable race though, some properly brilliant wheel to wheel driving throughout the field. It really is a great time to be an F1 fan at the moment, the racing is better than it's EVER been. Combine that with the fact that this season is far less predictable than last, and i think this is possibly going to be the best season of F1 ever.

Overall, a brilliant race, and at one point, any one of about 14 drivers could have filled the final podium positions, even Massa led the race at one point!!!

Perfect drive from Nico and clearly driver of the day!

Schumacher was robbed of a potential podium for the 2nd time in 3 races thanks to matters beyond his control.

Vettel did well to get to 5th from 15th and Webber drove a decent race. Red Bull are clearly the 3rd fastest team at the moment (Mercedes and McLaren are the fastest in race pace).

Button and Hamilton did better in the race, but they should not have been 5th and 7th on the grid. Button's Q3 performance was shocking and Lewis was unlucky that his gearbox failed.

Ferrari are really struggling, although Alonso was on for a 4th place before he made his 3rd stop and got caught up in the midfield with the 2 stoppers. Ferrari might do a bit better in Bahrain as there are less corners.

Kimi wouldn't have been P2 if he 3 stopped like he should. He was fully aware (or his team were) of the length the tyres would last and he pushed it too far. Vettel did 4 less laps on the final stint and just held on.

A truly cracking race and can't wait for Bahrain, although I expect the Mercedes to dominate!
