Instant classic. Congrats to Nico, Norbert, Ross, and the entire Mercedes operation, and to everyone else for a great show.

Hope the results stand. . . .

Nico and Lewis would be a great pairing -- but only if things don't work out at McLaren.

I was thinking this as well. Maybe Lewis should try and head to the Merc seat next year.

If anyone was following McLarens strategy, could someone explain to me the logic where they brought Hamilton in for the 2nd stop and that put him right back behind 2 slower cars? Then 2 laps later, Button was brought in and he comfortably got out ahead and was sprinting away. The gap between both drivers before the stop was 2.5 seconds, when they cleared the traffic it was 14 seconds. I'm confused.

Button was much faster in those laps, that was the case...

Yeah because Hamilton was caught in traffic due to the stupid pitstop timing. My question is WHY bring in Hamilton then when he doesn't have the gap to come out ahead of the slower cars after the pitstops. Get it?

Congrats to Nico and Mercedes, Im Happy for Norbert after this one :D

I guess McLaren stuffing up Buttons pit stop was done on purpose! :hehe:

Dude, come on, you can't call it really a battle... Btw, Hamilton weaving, as usual.

It's called racing, he did nothing illegal.

Ask Petrov...
Btw, now we see how strong Mercedes engine is... Powerful!

a weave constitutes more than one movement back and forth. Lewis went across once, so I don't know where you get that from other than sour grapes!

McLaren were always going to three stop this circuit, how they were on their tyres. Before each stop Webber came in first,he put in very fast laps each time. The way the race was it looked impossible not to come out in traffic,no matter when they came in.

Okay so you're saying they were trying to cover Webber, by bringing in Lewis so quickly for his 2nd stop?

Yeah sounds about right... but I guess some will think they did it on purpose to ruin Lewis's race so Jenson finishes well ahead. :P

Possibly or you could look at it was the optimum time to come in.Its alright saying stay out two more laps and you will overtake 3 drivers, but if those tyres hit the cliff you lose more than you gain.look at Rosberg even he stayed out to long once ,had a very minor off,but still lost time.

edit : actualy adding to that with lewis coming in a lap earlier than Jenson he gained on him in one of the stops.i think they got it about right.

So what about Webber poppin' a wheelie? :hehe:

I thought he was going to back flip like he did at Le mans many years ago, thankfully it came back down. Brundle said after the replay "its a way to save your tyres when your car is in the air" :hehe:

Anyway Congrats to Britney, he drove a good race and totally surprised me. I expected Merc to just fade away and finish behind the Mclarens and Red Bulls so well done. As for the race as a whole, really enjoyed it. :)

never mind, mixed up pit stops.

No we're talking about the 2nd stop.
