Lewis taking a penalty for a gearbox change could mean the difference between winning the championship and not, but Perez taking one can mean the difference between being the fifth championship loser and being the sixth loser. For folks like myself, it isn't that it's a crime in one instance and not in another, but that in one instance it directly effects my driver's chances in 2012 and in another it effects someone else but not me. I guess it's like if your wife cheats on you versus some other bloke's wife cheating on him; one effects you more than the other. It isn't that it's okay for Perez and wrong when it happens to Hamilton so much as it sucks that it happened to Hamilton because he's my driver.LRW wrote:funny how everyone cares all of a sudden about this rule - but when Perez got one two races ago OR when Raikkonen got one last week - I didnt see many (if any) complaints.....Cause some groups just accept that s*** happens and get on with it, cause it's the same rule for all the drivers.

By my calculations this is the 4th gearbox problem Hamilton has had since the start of 2010, during the same period Button has had none. Hm...

Hm...Are you saying that Button has been driving around with the same gearbox since 2010? Wow, and I thought it was only tires he was good at saving. Come on Scotty, what kind of statement is that? That would be the same as stating that Kimi has needed two new power steering upgrades this year.
